Kampus ITS, ITS News \u2014<\/strong> Lahan gambut di Indonesia saat ini terbilang cukup luas, namun sayangnya daya dukung produktivitasnya masih cenderung rendah yang menyebabkan mekanisasi konvensional pertanian tidak efektif. Memberi solusi untuk kondisi tersebut, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) melalui Science Techno Park (STP) Otomotif memperkenalkan inovasi gemilang di bidang teknologi tepat guna, yakni berupa traktor perahu listrik untuk sektor pertanian lahan gambut.<\/p>\n

Rektor ITS Prof Dr (HC) Ir Bambang Pramujati ST MSc Eng PhD menyatakan bahwa traktor elektrik yang dirancang peneliti ITS ini telah berhasil menarik perhatian Kementerian Pertanian (Kementan) RI. \u201cBerbeda dengan traktor pada umumnya, kendaraan taktis pertanian ini didesain menyerupai bentuk kapal agar mampu bergerak optimal di atas lahan basah tanpa risiko tenggelam,\u201d ujar orang nomor satu ITS itu saat uji coba traktor perahu listrik di area lahan gambut di lingkungan Kampus ITS, Selasa (14\/7).<\/p>\n

Sementara itu, Prof Dr Bambang Sudarmanta ST MT yang memimpin penelitian inovasi tersebut menyampaikan bahwa penggunaan motor listrik pada traktor ini diklaim mampu memangkas biaya operasional secara signifikan, dibandingkan dengan traktor konvensional berbahan bakar fosil. Selain unggul dalam efisiensi biaya, traktor ini juga mendukung program kelestarian lingkungan melalui emisi karbon yang rendah.<\/p>\n

Pengembangan sistem elektrifikasi traktor perahu tersebut menggabungkan prinsip flotasi, mekanisasi pertanian, dan elektrifikasi guna meningkatkan produktivitas lahan. \u201cSelain itu juga, sistem ini akan meminimalisir degradasi struktur tanah, serta mendukung pertanian berkelanjutan yang rendah emisi,\u201d tutur Manajer STP Otomotif ITS ini.<\/p>\n

Guru Besar Teknik Mesin ITS tersebut menjelaskan bahwa traktor ini dirancang khusus dengan fokus pada optimasi torsi tinggi, bukan kecepatan, sehingga dapat memenuhi kebutuhan operasional membajak sawah. Secara teknis, traktor ini digerakkan oleh motor listrik 10 kilowatt (kW) dan dilengkapi dengan komponen krusial seperti sistem display elektronik untuk memudahkan petani memantau kondisi baterai, pengontrol suhu, serta tegangan baterai secara real-time<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Dalam hal operasional dan keunggulan, traktor listrik ini dinilai jauh lebih hemat biaya dibandingkan traktor konvensional berbasis bensin atau solar. Sebab sumber energi traktor ini memanfaatkan daya listrik yang murah dan mudah diakses di rumah warga. \u201cKeunggulan lainnya ialah respon torsi yang instan saat gas diaktifkan, sehingga menghasilkan tenaga penuh secara langsung untuk menggemburkan tanah,\u201d terang pakar di bidang teknik pembakaran dan bahan bakar tersebut.<\/p>\n

Terkait spesifikasi daya, traktor yang didesain oleh Bambang Sudarmanta bersama tim ini bekerja pada tegangan optimal sekitar 72 volt dan arus (current<\/em>) 32 Ampere, yang menghasilkan daya sekitar 10 kW dengan kapasitas baterai sebesar 140 Ampere per hour (Ah). Dengan demikian, traktor dapat digunakan selama 3 sampai 4 jam dalam kondisi penuh. \u201cJadi, berdasarkan hasil uji coba, secara matematis traktor ini diestimasikan mampu membajak lahan seluas 1 hektare,\u201d paparnya.<\/p>\n

Disampaikan Bambang Sudarmanta, karakteristik operasional traktor ini disimulasikan pada lahan 1 hektar yang memiliki dimensi lebar 100 meter dan panjang 100 meter. Dengan menggunakan bajak traktor berlebar 1,8 meter, traktor ini memerlukan sebanyak 56 lintasan untuk menyelesaikan area tersebut, yang secara akumulatif membentuk panjang lintasan total sejauh 5,6 kilometer.<\/p>\n

Lebih lanjut, meskipun memiliki potensi efisiensi yang tinggi dan mobilitas yang baik berkat penggunaan ban karet untuk akses jalan raya, proyek ini terus melakukan pengembangan dan validasi. Pada uji coba langsung di sawah sebelumnya, tim menemui kendala teknis berupa panas berlebih, sehingga diputuskan untuk menambahkan sistem pendingin sebagai komponen krusial yang baru.<\/p>\n

Inovasi sektor pertanian karya tim peneliti ITS ini turut mendukung capaian Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Terkait peningkatan produktivitas pertaniannya mampu menyokong SDGs poin ke-2 tentang Kehidupan Tanpa Kelaparan, poin ke-7 tentang Energi Bersih dan Terjangkau, serta poin ke-9 mengenai Industri, Inovasi, dan Infrastruktur.
