Menyikapi permasalahan tersebut, Guru Besar ke-245 <a href=\"http:\/\/its.ac.id\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)<\/a> Prof Diah Susanti ST MT PhD menggagas inovasi material maju untuk teknologi penyimpanan energi dan pengendalian pencemaran lingkungan yang berkelanjutan.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Melalui penelitian dalam orasi ilmiah bertajuk Rekayasa Material Maju untuk Teknologi Penyimpanan Energi dan Pengendalian Pencemaran Lingkungan, dosen <a href=\"http:\/\/its.ac.id\/tmaterial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Departemen Teknik Material dan Metalurgi (DTMM) ITS<\/a> ini menyoroti pentingnya transisi energi. Emisi gas rumah kaca akibat bahan bakar fosil dinilai dapat ditekan lewat konversi limbah polusi. \u201cDengan teknologi fotokatalis berbahan semikonduktor layaknya komposit reduced Graphene Oxide dan tembaga oksida (rGO\/CuO), gas buang CO2 dapat diubah menjadi bahan bakar alternatif seperti metanol dan metana,\u201d jelas Diah.<\/p>\n<p>Lebih lanjut, teknologi fotokatalis penunjang reaksi kimia dengan bantuan cahaya ini turut dikembangkan untuk menguraikan limbah pewarna industri beracun layaknya Rhodamine-B (RhB) dan Methylene Blue (MB). Menjembatani fungsi kapasitor konvensional dan baterai, peranti ini menutupi kekurangan densitas energi lewat keunggulan pada densitas dayanya. \u201cKapasitansinya bahkan sanggup mencapai 10 ribu kali lipat lebih besar dibanding kapasitor konvensional biasa,\u201d beber alumnus doktoral National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) tersebut.<\/p>\n<p>Secara mendetail, Diah mengklasifikasikan instrumen tersebut ke dalam tiga jenis utama, yakni Electric Double Layer Capacitor (EDLC), pseudocapacitor, dan sistem hibrida (hybrid). Tipe EDLC memanfaatkan material karbon berpori untuk menyimpan muatan, sedangkan pseudocapacitor menyimpan daya melalui reaksi reduksi-oksidasi. Penelitian mutakhirnya pun sukses merakit ketiga model peranti tersebut menggunakan material rGO yang dipadukan dengan ragam oksida logam layaknya WO3, NiO, CuCr2O4, serta senyawa mangan oksida.<\/p>\n<p>Guna mewujudkan sistem penyimpanan daya masif yang ramah lingkungan, Diah turut menyintesis limbah biomassa lokal Nusantara layaknya eceng gondok, tempurung kelapa, dan kluwak menjadi rGO berpori aktif. Pengaplikasian peranti tingkat tinggi ini nantinya akan diintegrasikan secara hibrida bersama sistem baterai atau fuel cell pada kendaraan listrik masa depan. Ia bertekad untuk terus memperluas jaringan kolaborasi bersama mitra industri global demi mewujudkan target Net Zero Emission pada tahun 2060 mendatang. \u201cSelagi ada kesempatan, kaum perempuan juga harus terus berdaya dan berupaya memberikan kontribusi riset terbaiknya bagi kelestarian alam,\u201d pesannya memotivasi.<\/p>\n<p>Langkah progresif melalui deretan inovasi rekayasa material ini sejatinya selaras dengan komitmen global dalam mewujudkan Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Pencapaian tersebut secara langsung mendukung poin ke-7 tentang Energi Bersih dan Terjangkau, poin ke-12 mengenai Konsumsi dan Produksi yang Bertanggung Jawab, serta poin ke-13 terkait Penanganan Perubahan Iklim.
