Selain mudah larut oleh air hujan, paparan sinar matahari juga dapat menurunkan kinerja bahan aktif. Menyikapi hal tersebut, mahasiswa Fakultas Vokasi <a href=\"http:\/\/its.ac.id\">Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)<\/a> menghadirkan inovasi DNF@S-MSN-CS <em>smart delivery pesticide<\/em> berbasis teknologi nano.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Peneliti DNF@S-MSN-CS Putri Mulia Hafiy Dzikrullah memaparkan bahwa pestisida jenis dinotefuran masih memiliki sejumlah keterbatasan. Selain mudah rusak akibat paparan sinar UV, pestisida juga rentan tercuci oleh air hujan sehingga mengurangi efektivitasnya. \u201cKondisi tersebut diperparah dengan pelepasan bahan aktif yang cenderung berlangsung secara tidak terkontrol,\u201d urai Fide, sapaan akrabnya.<\/p>\n<p>Sebagai jawaban akan tantangan tersebut, DNF@S-MSN-CS memodifikasi bahan aktif pestisida di pasaran dengan formulasi nano. Menurut Fide, hal ini memungkinkan distribusi bahan aktif lebih merata dan mudah diserap tanaman. Dengan pendekatan ini, satu kali penyemprotan dapat memberikan efektivitas yang lebih optimal dibandingkan formulasi konvensional.<\/p>\n<p>Kepala Seksi Pelayanan Teknis Unit Pelaksana Teknis (UPT) Proteksi Tanaman Pangan dan Hortikultura Provinsi Jawa Timur Ari Ika Sari SP MAgr menyampaikan antusiasmenya terhadap inovasi ini. Ia menilai inovasi tersebut berpotensi meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan pestisida. \u201cMinimnya penggunaan pestisida tentu dapat mengurangi dampak terhadap lingkungan,\u201d ungkap Ari.<\/p>\n<p>Selain untuk pestisida, Ari menilai teknologi nano memiliki peluang pemanfaatan yang lebih luas di sektor pertanian. Ari menjelaskan bahwa konsep serupa berpotensi diterapkan pada agen pengendali hayati hingga zat pengatur tumbuh tanaman. Faizah, sapaan akrabnya, berharap penelitian ini tidak berhenti pada tahap laboratorium saja, melainkan dapat dilanjutkan menuju uji komersial. \u201cHal ini bertujuan supaya hasil riset dapat benar-benar menyentuh kebutuhan masyarakat,\u201d harap dosen DTKI ITS ini.<\/p>\n<p>Tak hanya meningkatkan efektivitas pengendalian hama, teknologi ini juga berpotensi mengurangi dampak penggunaan bahan kimia terhadap lingkungan.
