The delegation of PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) together with the ITS academic community on the agenda of visiting the ITS Department of Electrical Engineering<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

ITS Campus, ITS News \u2014\u00a0<\/span><\/b>PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) visited the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) on Wednesday (June 3) to review various innovations and research developed by ITS academics. The visit revealed the potential for technological development and explored future collaboration opportunities between universities and the automotive industry.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Dean of the Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (FTEIC) at ITS, Prof. Dr. Diana Purwitasari, S.Kom., M.Sc., assessed the visit as a crucial opportunity to strengthen collaboration between universities and global industry. She believes this synergy can open up broader opportunities for students to participate in the development of future technologies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During this visit, Diana added, ITS presented various innovations from its automotive research teams. These included the ITS Antasena Team, the ITS Sapuangin Team, the ITS Nogogeni Team, and the ITS Anargya EV Team. “We introduced the development of energy-efficient vehicles, electric vehicles, and hydrogen-based technology designed by ITS as a solution for future mobility,” she said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The TMMIN delegation saw firsthand one of the robotics innovations created by ITS students at the ITS Robotics Center.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Diana added that ITS also showcased several innovations in the field of robotics, including those from the ITS RIVAL Team, the ITS Ichiro Team, the ITS IRIS Team, and the ITS Bayucaraka Team. These innovations demonstrate the capabilities of Kampus Pahlawan students in developing autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, and control technologies that are increasingly relevant to the needs of modern industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

By introducing these various innovations, the ITS Informatics Engineering lecturer hopes that interactions with industry will broaden students’ horizons and enrich their research experiences. “This collaboration is expected to open doors for young researchers to contribute directly to the development of next-generation vehicle technology at the global level,” said Diana.<\/span><\/p>\n

Responding to this, Kazuhiro Fukazawa, Director and Senior Executive Project Leader of Research & Development at TMMIN, expressed his impression of the innovative approach demonstrated by the ITS students. He stated that the ability to move quickly from problem identification to solution is a crucial value in automotive technology development.<\/span><\/p>\n

He also assessed that this approach aligns with industry needs, which demand rapid innovation and adaptability to various technological challenges. Fukazawa commended the enthusiasm of ITS students who are able to develop various innovations through research and strong teamwork. “ITS focuses on the principle\u00a0<\/span>of doing fast,<\/span><\/i>\u00a0which involves not just thinking but acting immediately,” he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

The assessment demonstrates that the innovations developed by ITS are not only technically superior but also supported by a research culture focused on implementation. For Fukazawa, this approach is crucial in developing talent capable of meeting the future needs of the automotive industry. “I believe ITS has great potential to produce true automotive engineers,” he explained.<\/span><\/p>\n

TMMIN’s visit further strengthens ITS’s position as a center for automotive technology and innovation development in Indonesia. This effort also supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly point 9 on industry, innovation, and infrastructure. Strengthening collaboration between universities and the global industry also supports point 17 on partnerships to achieve the goals.\u00a0<\/span>(*)<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n
