Registration for the 2026 SMITS FLAT Pathway has been open from April 14 to May 6, 2026.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

ITS Campus, ITS News \u2014<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Opening a golden opportunity for campus warriors, the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) officially introduced the ITS Independent Selection (SMITS) Future Leader and Academic Talent (FLAT) and Academic Competence Excellence (ACE) selection pathways through an online socialization held via YouTube and Zoom on Thursday (April 30). This strategic step is expected to make it easier for prospective new students to understand the selection criteria that best suit their potential.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Starting the socialization session, the Head of the ITS Admissions and Promotion Sub-Directorate, Nani Kurniati, ST, MT, PhD, revealed that the SMITS FLAT pathway is specifically designed to attract outstanding talents in both academic and non-academic fields. This scheme is divided into two, namely the Independent Scholarship Selection and Independent Achievement. The Independent Scholarship Selection pathway is presented as a solution for prospective outstanding students who face financial constraints in pursuing higher education. Through this scheme, ITS strives to eliminate economic barriers so that the best talents can still access quality learning at the Campus of Heroes. “Specifically for the Independent Scholarship Selection pathway, the Institutional Development Fee (IPI) component is eliminated for applicants who successfully pass the selection,” explained Nani.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, the Independent Achievement Selection category within the SMITS FLAT scheme is intended for students who excel in academics, non-academics, or leadership experience within organizations. Recognized leadership criteria include positions as Student Council President, Garuda Scout, Paskibraka member, and ambassador at the regional, ministerial, or national levels. Nani believes that participants who successfully pass the rigorous selection process within these organizations have great potential to become future leaders.<\/span><\/p>\n

Achievements eligible for the SMITS FLAT category include academic achievements in the form of National Olympiads and recognized competitions from official institutions such as the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas), ministries, and international institutions. In addition to competitive achievements, ITS also offers opportunities for those who have memorized holy books from all recognized religions in Indonesia to register. “We believe that memorizing holy books is an achievement not everyone can achieve,” said the lecturer from the\u00a0<\/span>ITS Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering<\/span><\/a>\u00a0.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the other hand, the SMITS ACE pathway is also offered through two main schemes: the Independent Partnership Selection and the Independent General Selection. The partnership pathway requires a recommendation from an institutional partner that has an official memorandum of understanding with ITS. The general pathway is open to all high school\/vocational high school graduates with graduation years between 2024 and 2026. Nani emphasized that this openness aims to provide opportunities for applicants from all classes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding the testing mechanism, applicants for the General Independent Selection and Partnership pathways can choose between two pathways. These pathways are divided into Computer-Based Written Examination (UTBK) and SMITS (Student- …<\/span><\/p>\n

This outreach program represents a concrete step by ITS in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly point 4, namely Quality Education. By providing diverse entry pathways, ITS ensures inclusive and equitable access to higher education for all. ITS continues to strive to be an institution that opens its doors as wide as possible to the nation’s future generations.<\/span><\/p>\n

In closing, registration for the SMITS FLAT pathway, which opened on April 14, 2026, is confirmed to remain open until May 6, 2026. Meanwhile, registration for the SMITS ACE pathway, both the General Independent and Partnership pathways, will open from May 12 to June 3, 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n
