ITS Campus, ITS News \u2014<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0The Spektronics research team from the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) has once again achieved a proud achievement on the global stage. Bringing a prototype chemical-powered car named Dodit, the ITS Spektronics team successfully won the champion award at the 17th Malaysia Chem E-Car Competition 2026 at Xiamen University, Malaysia, which was held for two days, until Sunday (April 26).<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In the international competition, Spektronics ITS successfully won the title of\u00a0<\/span>2nd Runner Up for Poster Category<\/span><\/em>\u00a0and secured the title of\u00a0<\/span>5th Winner for Car Performance Category<\/span><\/em>\u00a0. Spektronics ITS Non-Technical Manager Nayla Muli Fathia explained that Dodit’s car was carefully designed based on pressure for the past five months. “We are quite satisfied because we managed to win two awards that exceeded expectations,” she said proudly.<\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding its innovative excellence, Nayla explained that the Dodit car, a Spektronics 32 generation, has an excellent balance between performance and system durability. This flagship prototype is equipped with\u00a0<\/span>high-performance torque gear<\/span><\/em>\u00a0specifically designed to meet the needs of various track challenges. Furthermore, its structure is also designed to be very tough and solid. “This allows it to maintain stability and adapt quickly to changing track conditions,” she explained.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 2024 class of ITS Chemical Engineering<\/span><\/a>\u00a0student admitted\u00a0that the journey to victory was not without its challenges. The differing scoring schemes for each challenge and the need to recalibrate Dodit’s car on the racetrack presented challenges. To overcome these challenges, the team implemented strict standard operating procedures and data-driven decision-making to ensure the system returned to stability quickly.<\/span><\/p>\n

This brilliant achievement is certainly the result of the dedication of the strong delegation from various disciplines at this Campus of Heroes. In addition to Nayla, this proud ITS team is strengthened by Rifki Zauhar, Davlin Karnadi, and Stanley Hendrata who also come from the ITS Chemical Engineering Department. There are also Khonuri Salsabilla from\u00a0<\/span>the ITS Industrial Chemical Engineering Department<\/span><\/a>\u00a0, Ilham Zain Muttaqin from\u00a0<\/span>the ITS Instrumentation Engineering Department<\/span><\/a>\u00a0, and Audy Febi Narendra from\u00a0<\/span>the ITS Industrial Product Design (Despro) Department<\/span><\/a>\u00a0. This delegation team was directly guided by the Dean\u00a0<\/span>of the Faculty of Industrial Technology and Systems Engineering (FTIRS) ITS<\/span><\/a>\u00a0Prof Ir Juwari ST MEng PhD IPM.<\/span><\/p>\n

The successful achievement of the car designed by the ITS Spektronics Team also implements Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point 9 concerning Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure through efficient chemical reaction technology. Furthermore, this innovation also supports SDGs point 12 concerning Responsible Consumption and Production due to minimal chemical waste. “Hopefully, ITS will continue to be a campus that drives the birth of new innovations as the Home of Champions,” Nayla hopes optimistically.\u00a0<\/span>(ITS Public Relations)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
