ITS Campus, ITS News \u2014<\/strong> Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) again strengthens its position in the international arena by adding three new subjects in the QS World University Rankings (WUR) by Subject 2026. This success brings a total of nine ITS subjects into the world’s best ranks, while recording a positive trend without a single subject experiencing a decrease in ranking.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The three new subjects are Business and Management which occupies rank 551-600 in the world, Physics and Astronomy at rank 551-600 in the world, and Chemistry at position 601-700 in the world. In addition to the new subjects, five other subjects are recorded to have increased in ranking and one subject remains stable.<\/p>\n

The Head of the Institutional Reputation Unit of the ITS Quality Assurance Office<\/a> Sarah Cahyadini ST MT PhD explained that this achievement indicates ITS’s strategy of strengthening research and international collaboration is proceeding correctly. “The addition of three new subjects has strategic meaning because it shows that global recognition of ITS is expanding,” explained this Architecture Department lecturer.<\/p>\n

Sarah revealed that this success is influenced by the difference in assessment weights in each field. In the Business and Management subject, academic reputation and employer reputation indicators hold a weight of up to 80 percent. Meanwhile, for science fields such as Physics and Chemistry, the reputation indicator contributes 60 percent, followed by citations per paper metrics, international research collaboration, and H-index.<\/p>\n

ITS’s consistency in maintaining publication quality and expanding global networks is the main key in increasing citation numbers and research visibility. According to Sarah, collaboration with global partners tends to have a higher impact and accelerates knowledge dissemination. “We build a sustainable academic ecosystem, starting from research management to data-driven performance monitoring,” she added.<\/p>\n

The role of Employer Reputation<\/em> or graduate user perception also becomes a significant factor, especially for new subjects. The excellent performance of alumni in the industry shows the relevance of this campus’s curriculum in the global professional world. This helps strengthen graduate competitiveness and department positions in global assessment parameters.<\/p>\n

This achievement aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point 4 on Quality Education and point 9 on Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. Going forward, ITS targets an increase in position for existing subjects and pushes other potential fields such as data science and civil engineering. “We are optimistic that this positive trend can be maintained with a collaborative spirit,” she asserted.
