Untuk mengembangkan bidang teknologi, Microsoft membangun jaringan di bidang Akademik dengan berbagai instansi pendidikan di Indonesia. Koneksi ini dibangun untuk memperoleh expertisi dari kampus untuk mengembangkan produk-produk Microsoft. &quot;Selain itu, jumlah <em>adoption<\/em> microsoft yang tinggi, membuat jaminan khusus lapangan pekerjaan bagi akademisi, jadi sama-sama ada manfaatnya,&quot; jelas Julius.<\/p>\n<p>Karenanya, untuk mendukung program akademis ini Microsoft membangun Microsoft Subscription Developer Network Academic Aliance (MSDNAA). MSDNAA menyajikan fasilitas khusus untuk mahasiswa agar dapat menggunakan produk-produk terbaru Microsoft. &quot;Produk ini bisa didapatkan <em>free<\/em> dengan lisensi resmi dari Microsoft,&quot; tuturnya.<\/p>\n<p>Keuntungan lain, adalah software ini tetap dapat dinikmati setelah mahasiswa tersebut lulus. Meskipun gratis, software yang diberikan ini sama berkualitasnya dengan software <em>enterprise<\/em> yang ada di industri, &quot;Jadi bukan berarti software yang diberikan gratis ini lebih jelek,&quot;candanya.<\/p>\n<p>Selain materi di atas, Kuliah Tamu ini juga diisi dengan materi lain. Yaitu Windows Phone 7 yang dibawakan oleh Taufan Harsilo Ardhinata. Dilanjutkan dengan materi Augmented Reality yang dijelaskan oleh Reza Aditya Saputra. Mereka berdua adalah Microsoft Student Patner (MSP) dari PENS dan ITS.
