In this research, Dr. Danny Triputra Setiamanah, ST, MT, MEng, a doctoral graduate from\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/tsipil\/id\/beranda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span dir=\"auto\">the ITS Department of Civil Engineering,<\/span><\/a><span dir=\"auto\">\u00a0has developed an innovative slab track design based on advanced materials and a panel system for the development of national high-speed rail infrastructure.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em><span dir=\"auto\">Slab track<\/span><\/em><span dir=\"auto\">\u00a0is a crucial structural component that serves as the rail foundation for high-speed rail systems and has been implemented in the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed \u200b\u200bRail project. This innovation was introduced in response to the lack of relevant research and the lack of specific national standards for its design.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">Therefore, the lack of research on this subject in Indonesia has prompted the need to develop a more adaptive design. &#8220;This research aims to demonstrate ITS&#8217;s readiness to support the independent development of high-speed rail in Indonesia,&#8221; explained the 31-year-old.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">He explained that the high stiffness required for\u00a0<\/span><em><span dir=\"auto\">slab track<\/span><\/em><span dir=\"auto\">\u00a0makes this system demanding precise maintenance, while also impacting high construction and maintenance costs. Furthermore, he noted that the lack of a specific Indonesian National Standard (SNI) for high-speed rail\u00a0<\/span><em><span dir=\"auto\">slab track<\/span><\/em><span dir=\"auto\">\u00a0design was the primary reason for this research.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-107507\" src=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/02\/doktor-teknik-sipil-2.jpeg\" alt=\"Salah satu tim peneliti saat melakukan tahapan pembacaan jumlah, panjang, dan lebar retak\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/02\/doktor-teknik-sipil-2.jpeg 1280w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/02\/doktor-teknik-sipil-2-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/02\/doktor-teknik-sipil-2-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/02\/doktor-teknik-sipil-2-768x432.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>One of the research team during the reading stage of the number, length and width of cracks<span dir=\"auto\">Based on this focus, this dissertation, titled\u00a0<\/span><em><span dir=\"auto\">&#8220;Fatigue Performance of Fiber-Reinforced Concrete Slab Track,<\/span><\/em><span dir=\"auto\">\u00a0&#8221; develops\u00a0<\/span><em><span dir=\"auto\">a slab track<\/span><\/em><span dir=\"auto\">\u00a0design utilizing advanced materials such as steel fiber and\u00a0<\/span><em><span dir=\"auto\">polypropylene<\/span><\/em><span dir=\"auto\">\u00a0fiber , along with a 60-centimeter-wide modular panel system. The advanced materials are considered capable of improving fatigue resistance and crack control in concrete, while the panel system is designed to simplify maintenance and partial component replacement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">Danny stated that the choice of materials and systems was based on increased durability and efficiency, as well as their ability to enhance structural performance through the\u00a0<\/span><em><span dir=\"auto\">bridging effect<\/span><\/em><span dir=\"auto\">\u00a0of fiber-reinforced concrete. &#8220;With this advanced panel system and materials, maintenance requirements can be minimized and maintenance costs more efficient,&#8221; explained the Palembang native.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">The ITS Civil Engineering graduate also revealed that this was proven through analysis results that showed significant performance improvements in the aspects of crack control and distribution, as well as post-cracking behavior stability compared to the reference prototype. These findings are expected to provide a scientific basis for developing national standards for high-speed rail\u00a0<\/span><em><span dir=\"auto\">slab track<\/span><\/em><span dir=\"auto\">\u00a0designs in the future.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">He hopes that\u00a0<\/span><em><span dir=\"auto\">the slab track<\/span><\/em><span dir=\"auto\">\u00a0innovation developed by the ITS doctoral students can be implemented in the national high-speed rail project, while strengthening the independence of transportation technology based on Indonesian research.
