ITS Campus, ITS News \u2014<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0State universities (PTN) throughout East Java continue to strengthen research synergies to support innovation-based regional development. This commitment was realized through the dissemination of collaborative research guidelines among PTNs throughout East Java through the JATIM MELAJU scheme, held in the Senate Meeting Room on the first floor of the Rectorate Building of the\u00a0<\/span>Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS)<\/span><\/a>\u00a0on Friday (27\/2).<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Prof. Dr. Nurhasa, M.Kes., Chair of the East Java State University Rectors Association, emphasized that JATIM MELAJU is a program of the East Java State University Rectors Association aimed at strengthening cross-campus research collaboration. He believes this synergy is crucial amidst the current uncertainty. “We hope that all research findings will provide solutions to problems in East Java and even at the national level,” said the Rector of Surabaya State University (Unesa).<\/p>\n

The event was attended by representatives from 15 state universities across East Java, members of the East Java Rectors’ Association Forum. The outreach outlined the proposal submission mechanism, funding scheme, evaluation system, and research downstreaming strategies for direct impact on the community and government.<\/span><\/p>\n

In his remarks, ITS Rector Prof. Dr. (HC) Ir. Bambang Pramujati, ST. MSc. Eng. PhD., emphasized the importance of cross-university collaboration in addressing increasingly complex development challenges. He cited the example of East Java’s 38 regencies\/cities, each with diverse characteristics and challenges, necessitating an integrated research approach. “This collaboration must produce concrete solutions that can be felt by the community,” he emphasized.<\/span><\/p>\n

Echoing this sentiment, Dr. Andriyanto, SH, MKes, Representative of the Head of the East Java Regional Research and Innovation Agency (BRIDA), expressed his appreciation for the collaboration between 15 state universities under the JATIM MELAJU scheme. He stated that, based on the provincial government’s problem inventory, the number of issues facing regional government agencies has now reached over 600 strategic issues. “Research results are not gimmicks; they must truly address the issues,” he emphasized.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, ITS Director of Research and Community Service (DRPM), Fadlilatul Taufany, ST, PhD, explained that the JATIM MELAJU scheme is designed as a cross-PTN consortium to strengthen each campus’s cluster of excellence. He emphasized that the collaboration targets not only academic outcomes but also tangible benefits for the region. “Through this consortium, research is expected to be integrated, measurable, and able to contribute to the development of East Java,” he explained.<\/span><\/p>\n

The JATIM MELAJU program promotes a pentahelix partnership strategy involving local governments, universities, the business and industrial sector (DUDI), the community, and the media to create evidence\u00a0<\/span>-based<\/span><\/em>\u00a0policies . The study focuses on priority issues such as poverty, food security, basic services, renewable energy, and strengthening economic competitiveness.<\/span><\/p>\n

The JATIM MELAJU program also supports the achievement of\u00a0<\/span>the Sustainable Development Goals<\/span><\/em>\u00a0(SDGs), specifically point 1 on No Poverty, point 2 on Zero Hunger, point 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth.
