ITS Campus, ITS News<\/strong> \u2014 The Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS)<\/a> capitalized on the peak of Ramadan 1447 H by presenting a variety of social activities for the community. The activities were packaged as a Ramadan Festival, the culmination of the 47th ITS Ramadan on Campus (RDK)<\/a> series, held at the ITS Manarul Ilmi Mosque<\/a> on Saturday (March 7).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Bara Ardiwinata, Head of RDK 47 ITS, stated that this year’s Ramadan Festival offered various services for the congregation of the Manarul Ilmi Mosque and the wider community. This was done as an effort to expand the mosque’s benefits to the surrounding community. “We are not just providing sahur (pre-dawn meal) and iftar (breaking of fast), we are committed to providing services needed by the community,” Bara emphasized.<\/p>\n

Following its opening on the eve of Nuzulul Qur’an the day before, the Ramadan Festival continued with the 2026 Ramadan Islamic Competition (RIC), open to high school and undergraduate students across Java. Bara explained that the competition’s theme was “Sailing to Seize Energy Amidst the Rapid Technological Boom in a Meaningful Month” and featured six competitions combining the values \u200b\u200bof goodness, knowledge, Islam, and togetherness.<\/p>\n

The six categories of the competition include Poster with 50 participants, Videography with 124 participants, Dai (Da’i) with 50 participants, Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ) with 41 participants, Musabaqah Hifdzil Qur’an (MHQ) with 50 participants, and Scientific Writing of the Qur’an (KTIQ) with 40 participants. Two categories of the competition, namely Poster and Videography, were held online to reach participants from various regions.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the ITS Information Systems Department<\/a> student explained that the Ramadan Festival also included an Iftar Fest, held for two days, starting Friday (March 6th). Seventeen stalls offered food and beverages from local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Surabaya. “We want to provide a space for local MSMEs to participate and enliven the atmosphere of breaking the fast together at the Manarul Ilmi Mosque,” said Bara.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the Ramadan Festival also offered free health screenings for the general public. Through this activity, which was held in collaboration with the ITS Medical Student Association (HMK), 200 people received blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol checks, as well as health consultations with medical personnel and ITS Medical students<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In addition to providing health services, this event also provided free oil changes and vehicle inspections for 100 ITS students and online motorcycle taxi drivers. This initiative, in collaboration with the ITS Student Mechanical Workshop Institute (LBMM), demonstrates its commitment to driving safety and comfort. “We also want this event to be a platform for student collaboration to directly contribute to the community,” explained Bara.<\/p>\n

Through these various activities, the 47th ITS Ramadan Festival RDK supports ITS’s commitment to realizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This activity aligns with point 2 on Zero Hunger, point 3 on Healthy and Prosperous Lives, and point 4 on Quality Education for the Community. (ITS Public Relations)<\/strong><\/p>\n
