Dalam proses penelitiannya, ia telah mengembangkan sebuah model penghitung curah hujan yang lebih akurat daripada metode yang digunakan di berbagai stasiun sentral saat ini.<\/p>\n<p>Model yang dikembangkan Entin dengan bantuan paket program Heytos. Dalam modelnya, ia menggabungkan beberapa metode antara lain <em>time series, binary time series, adjusting,<\/em> dan dilengkapi dengan metode Bayesian. Hasilkan berupa data hasil perhitungan, serta simulasi.<\/p>\n<p>Ini memastikan bahwa perhitungan curah hujan juga meliputi informasi geografis wilayah terkait, sehingga perhitungan menjadi lebih akurat. &quot;Apalagi model-model perhitungan yang lama dikembangkan untuk negara-negara lain, tidak spesifik untuk Indonesia,&quot; jelasnya.<\/p>\n<p>Padahal, Indonesia yang beriklim tropis memiliki ketidakpastian cuaca dan curah hujan yang cukup tinggi. Sehingga, metode perhitungan yang digunakan seharusnya sangat spesifik, bahkan untuk setiap wilayah pengukuran.<\/p>\n<p>Target Entin, model tersebut dapat digunakan dalam pembentukan model banjir dan penanggulangannya. Selain itu, metode ini juga dapat digunakan dalam pertimbangan perencanaan drainase.<\/p>\n<p>Penelitiannya dilakukan di sebuah stasiun sentral daerah aliran sungai (DAS) di Situbondo selama tahun 2005 sampai 2008. Ia mulai mengembangkan modelnya pada tahun 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Untuk menghasilkan metode tersebut, lulusan S1 Teknik Sipil ITS tahun 1992 ini bekerjasama dengan berbagai pihak. Salah satu kolega utamanya adalah A. Koutsoyiannis dari Yunani yang mengembangkan model serupa sejak tahun 1990. <\/p>\n<p>Ketua tim pembimbing, Prof Dr Ir Nadjadji Anwar MSc sangat bahagia dengan hasil yang dicapai oleh Entin. Ia menyebutkan bahwa Entin telah bekerja begitu keras untuk mewujudkan sebuah pemodelan besar. Ia telah mendapatkan <em>feedback<\/em> positif dari pihak-pihak dari universitas lainnya akan kerja kerasnya itu. Nadjadji menambahkan, bahwa penelitiannya sangat layak untuk diaplikasikan.<\/p>\n<p>Entin menyambut kemungkinan tersebut. Akan tetapi, menurutnya, model tersebut masih harus dikembangkan lebih jauh. Model yang ia gunakan masih harus disesuaikan dengan keadaan setiap wilayah pengukuran.
