Model yang menerapkan prinsip ekonomi sirkular ini dapat mengurangi kontribusi Indonesia sebagai salah satu produsen sampah PET terbesar dunia.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Dalam disertasinya, Yuniar mengungkapkan bahwa saat ini Indonesia berkontribusi terhadap 3.200 ton sampah plastik dunia. Angka tersebut disebabkan oleh popularitas plastik sebagai bahan baku yang dapat diproduksi menjadi berbagai produk. \u201cTerutama plastik jenis PET yang penggunaannya terus meningkat sebanyak 5,2 persen setiap tahunnya,\u201d ungkap Yuniar yang diwisuda sebagai doktor pada Wisuda ke-131 ITS, Sabtu (12\/4) lalu.<\/p>\n<p>Tingginya angka kontribusi Indonesia dalam memproduksi sampah plastik PET merupakan hal yang berbahaya, sebab membutuhkan waktu selama bertahun-tahun untuk mengurai sampah plastik secara alami. Dalam jangka panjang, tingginya produksi sampah PET dapat memberikan kerugian dalam aspek lingkungan, kesehatan, dan ekonomi.<\/p>\n<p>Alumnus S1 Teknik Fisika ITS ini selanjutnya mengatakan bahwa salah satu solusi dari permasalahan ini adalah dengan menerapkan konsep ekonomi sirkular. Yakni dengan menekankan pemanfaatan kembali sumber daya untuk meminimalkan limbah dan memaksimalkan nilai di setiap rantai prosesnya. Konsep ini dibahas dalam disertasinya yang berjudul <em>Pemodelan Reverse Logistics Sampah PET Menuju Ekonomi Sirkular.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Dalam disertasinya, dosen yang ahli di bidang riset operasional itu berpendapat bahwa konsep ekonomi sirkular haruslah ditinjau secara multidisiplin dengan menerapkan berbagai tools. Hal ini membantu perempuan kelahiran 1979 itu dalam mengetahui komponen sistem yang perlu ada dalam model <em>reverse logistics<\/em> yang akan dibuatnya.<\/p>\n<p>Selain berdasarkan demografisnya, lulusan magister Teknik Industri ITS itu juga menganalisis perilaku konsumen Theory of Plan Behaviour (TPB). Pendekatan ini memahami perilaku konsumen dari sudut pandang sikap, norma subjektif, kontrol perilaku yang dirasakan, norma moral, dan kesadaran konsekuensi. Dari kedua analisis yang dilakukan, diperoleh beberapa perilaku yang akan menjadi pertimbangan dalam merancang skenario model.<\/p>\n<p>Hasilnya, terdapat lima skenario yang dirancang Yuniar. Meliputi penegakan hukum yang menetapkan sanksi tegas, penyediaan fasilitas yang mempermudah pengumpulan PET, edukasi yang meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat, insentif berupa kompensasi bagi partisipan daur ulang, serta gabungan dari keempatnya.<\/p>\n<p>Dari lima skenario yang telah dibuat dan diuji menggunakan simulasi sistem dinamik model <em>reverse logistics<\/em>, Yuniar menemukan skenario penegakan hukum dan gabungan keempat strategi dengan peningkatan sebesar tiga kali dari eksisting merupakan strategi terbaik yang dapat diadopsi di Indonesia. Keduanya dapat memberi peningkatan manfaat sebesar tiga kali dari eksisting jika tidak dihadapi dengan keterbatasan anggaran. \u201cPenerapan keduanya mampu mencapai target zero waste pada tahun 2050,\u201d tutur dosen Matematika di salah satu universitas negeri di Surabaya itu.<\/p>\n<p>Dengan adanya penelitian ini, Yuniar berharap bahwa hasil rekomendasi strategi yang telah disimpulkan dapat membantu pemerintah dalam mewujudkan <em>zero waste<\/em> dan memperkokoh implementasi ekonomi sirkular.
