Sejak 16 tahun yang lalu, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) telah menerbitkan Jurnal IPTEK: The Journal for Technology and Science, sebuah jurnal open acces yang berskala internasional. Jika semakin banyak penelitian bermutu yang dipublikasikan di Jurnal IPTEK dan disitasi oleh para peneliti, maka kredibilitas jurnal tersebut akan semakin meningkat. Hal ini juga berdampak baik bagi penguatan dan promosi riset di ITS.
