Madura, ITS News — The Manarul Ilmi Mosque Congregation (JMMI) of the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) has once again demonstrated its commitment to community service (abmas) through the JMMI Mengajar 2026 program. Taking place for six days, July 13–18, 2026, this activity targets elementary to high school students at the Darus Salam Islamic Boarding School, Torjun, Madura.
Embracing the spirit of sharing knowledge and experience, JMMI Mengajar 2026 offers learning tailored to the needs of each educational level. This program provides a platform for ITS students to contribute directly to supporting access to and quality education for their students.
The series of activities began with intensive preparation for the Computer-Based Written Exam (UTBK) for 12th-grade high school students. Participants received material reinforcement, practice questions, and strategies for dealing with various types of questions. “This learning is expected to help participants better prepare for the higher education selection process,” said Ihyaul Ummah, Chief Executive of JMMI Mengajar 2026.

In addition to preparing for the UTBK (Competency Test) exam, high school students also participate in the Fun Edukatif program. Through an interactive approach and simulations, participants are invited to learn about leadership, entrepreneurship, and first aid practices. The learning is designed to ensure participants not only understand the material theoretically but also gain practical experience that can be applied in everyday life.
Meanwhile, ninth-grade junior high school students received the Academic Ability Test (TKA). The material was presented in stages, taking into account the participants’ level of understanding. “In addition to strengthening academic abilities, this learning is aimed at building students’ confidence in facing the next level of education,” explained Ihyaul.
Activities for elementary school students also featured a sense of fun. Through Science Experiments, participants were encouraged to learn through play, experimenting with Elephant Toothpaste and making ice cream. This approach provided a way for them to learn about science concepts through fun, hands-on experiences.

The implementation of JMMI Mengajar 2026 was made possible by the support of the caretakers and administrators of the Darus Salam Torjun Islamic Boarding School in Madura. Coordination was carried out from the preparation stage to the end of the activity to ensure the smooth running of the entire learning process.
According to Ihyaul, through JMMI Mengajar 2026, he hopes participants will maintain their enthusiasm for learning, dare to try new things, and develop not only academically but also in skills and experiences that can be useful in everyday life.
He also expressed his appreciation to the Darus Salam Islamic Boarding School for their support. “Hopefully, the collaboration between JMMI ITS and Darus Salam Islamic Boarding School can continue and provide broader benefits in the future,” he said.

The event, which concluded on July 18, 2026, was a unique experience for the ITS JMMI committee and faculty. Over the six days, students not only shared knowledge but also learned to understand the needs of their fellow students and the dynamics of community service.
Through these activities, ITS JMMI supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly point 4 on Quality Education and point 10 on Reducing Inequality.
With the conclusion of the 2026 JMMI Mengajar series, it is hoped that the spirit of knowledge sharing will not cease after the six-day event. These experiences will equip ITS students to continue contributing to education while strengthening the role of higher education in providing tangible benefits to society. (*)
