ITS Campus, ITS News — Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has just announced 1,617 new students accepted through the 2026 National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP) route. This result was announced directly online through the Education Testing Management Center (BP3) on Tuesday (31/3) at 15.00 WIB.
The Head of the ITS Admission and Promotion Sub-directorate, Nani Kurniati ST MT PhD, revealed that out of 18,110 applicants, ITS has provided the opportunity for 1,617 student seats to study at ITS through this route. The number of applicants and acceptances has also experienced an increase from 2025. “Applicants to ITS through the SNBP route this year increased by 82 students and acceptances also increased by 70 students,” she disclosed.
From the total number of applicants, 12,539 people were applicants who targeted ITS as their first choice and 5,571 people as their second choice. The lecturer of the ITS Systems and Industrial Engineering Department explained that this shows the awareness of applicants in prioritizing ITS as their first choice.
Meanwhile, this SNBP also simultaneously announced the acceptance of passed participants who are entitled to receive the Smart Indonesia Card (KIP-K). Out of 4,157 total KIP-K applicants, 344 participants passed this route as prospective ITS KIP-K recipients, who will then be selected further internally by ITS. “Students who do not pass the internal selection will receive a reduction in the Single Tuition Fee (UKT) or internal scholarship opportunities at ITS,” she added for assurance.
Of the 57 existing study programs, the undergraduate (S1) programs of Informatics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering rank as the study programs with the most applicants at ITS. Interestingly, the study program with the highest competitiveness at ITS falls to Mining Engineering, which has just opened routes other than the Independent route. “The ITS Mining Engineering Study Program is a new study program that was previously only opened through the Independent route last year,” she explained.

Nani also revealed that the SNBP route only accounts for 23 percent of the total new students to be accepted at ITS this year. She emphasized that there are still other opportunities through four other routes from ITS with much larger quotas. These routes include the National Selection Based on Test (SNBT), ITS Independent Selection by achievement (SMITS FLAT), and ITS Independent Selection by test (SMITS ACE), as well as the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) selection route.
Furthermore, Nani stated that the SNBT route, whose registration is currently ongoing until April 7, 2026, has a quota from ITS of 35 percent. Meanwhile, registration for the SMITS FLAT route running from April 21 – May 6 and the SMITS ACE route from May 12 – June 3, 2026, have a quota of 42 percent. “As for the IUP route, it has a quota of 370,” she added.
The bespectacled woman further explained the opportunity for the Garuda Scholarship on the ITS IUP route from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) and the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP). The program, which offers opportunities to study domestically and abroad, has six study programs with ten programs affiliated with the scholarship. ITS becomes the third-ranked university with the most programs in the scholarship.
This achievement reflects ITS’s commitment to realizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point 4, namely Quality Education. Nani also advised that accepted participants can make good use of the existing opportunities and reminded them of the many other opportunities still waiting. “I hope that those who have not had the opportunity in this route can utilize other routes that are still waiting,” she advised motivatingly.
