ITS Campus, ITS News — The Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) continues to strengthen its commitment to accelerating technological transformation and digital literacy. Through the Applied Program in Information and Communication Technology (PRODISTIK) , ITS held a PRODISTIK 2026 Partner Discussion in the 11th Floor Auditorium of the ITS Research Center Building on Wednesday (29/7).
Over a nearly two-decade journey, PRODISTIK has fostered the digital skills of the younger generation. With the theme ” Connect, Collaborate, and Grow ,” ITS Rector Prof. Dr. (HC) Ir. Bambang Pramujati, ST., MSc., Eng., PhD., stated that Prodistik must serve as a platform for strengthening communication, integrating ideas, evaluating programs, and generating new innovations.
Furthermore, the ITS head emphasized that this program is designed to continue to serve as a bridge between ITS as a higher education institution and its secondary school partners. “This supports the knowledge transfer process by providing innovative learning to prepare the younger generation,” Bambang said.
The Head of the ITS PRODISTIK Management Team, Dr. Dra. Ismaini Zain, MSi, emphasized that strengthening this synergy is crucial to ensuring that the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) curriculum at the high school/Islamic high school level remains relevant to today’s industry and workplace dynamics. Since its inception, ITS PRODISTIK has fostered more than 50 partner schools from various regions in East Java.
Ismaini stated that ITS PRODISTIK has demonstrated fantastic achievements, graduating over 6,000 students annually from 1- to 3-year equivalency programs. This figure, he said, nearly equals the total number of ITS undergraduate and diploma graduates in a single year. “With a 19-year track record, the Prodistik alumni network is now one of the largest ICT applied communities at the secondary level,” Ismaini explained proudly.
Furthermore, ITS Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Alumni, Prof. Agus Muhamad Hatta, ST, MSi, PhD, highlighted the disparity in society’s ability to utilize artificial intelligence (AI). Despite Indonesia’s high internet usage, Hatta observed a low level of public understanding of AI’s applications. “This disparity has the potential to widen the productivity gap, both between individuals and between countries,” he said.
Therefore, Hatta hopes that PRODISTIK ITS will not simply be a conventional ICT training program, but rather transform into an AI platform for all platforms. This incubation will promote the positive, ethical, and productive use of AI among high school, vocational school, and Islamic school students.
In addition to serving as a platform for evaluating and formulating applied ICT curriculum innovations, the forum marked the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) for new partner schools. The PKS also extended partnerships for existing partners who had joined in previous years. Furthermore, several awards were presented to partner schools for their contributions and commitment to implementing the program.
This program is one of ITS’s efforts to support Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point 4, namely quality education, and point 8, namely decent work and economic growth. Bambang hopes this program can reach more schools in producing a digitally ready and highly competitive generation. “Never stop learning, don’t be afraid of change, and don’t hesitate to collaborate,” Bambang advised school partners.
