ITS Campus, ITS News — As a Campus of Heroes with advanced technology and innovation, the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) is ready to support today’s digital banking transformation. ITS demonstrated this optimism by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT CIMB Niaga Tbk on Monday (April 27).
ITS Vice Rector IV for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Alumni, Prof. Agus Muhamad Hatta, ST, MSi, PhD, revealed that the scope of the planned collaboration focuses on financial literacy education and digital banking services . Furthermore, this collaboration includes funding, internships, and recruitment programs for ITS graduates. “This is ITS’s step in connecting the academic world with the banking industry,” Hatta explained.

The ITS Professor of Engineering Physics highlighted the research collaborations ITS offers in digital innovation and financial technology. He believes ITS’s expert resources in technology and business management are capable of driving the development of security systems and efficiency in today’s digital banking transactions.
This is supported by ITS’s ecosystem, the Science Techno Park (STP) , which provides space for innovation and startup development. This synergy opens up significant opportunities for banks to enter the campus research ecosystem. “CIMB Niaga has the opportunity to be directly involved in mentoring and providing financial solutions for our innovation ecosystem,” said Hatta.

In response, Rhena Octaria, Head of CIMB Niaga JBN Surabaya Region, expressed her pride in once again collaborating with ITS. She emphasized that CIMB Niaga is ready to support ITS’s vision of becoming an entrepreneurial university . “We believe in and want to provide a space for ITS’s young talents to learn directly within our digital banking ecosystem,” Rhena said.
Another strategic step in this MoU is funding support through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds. These funds will be allocated to facilitate scholarship programs for outstanding students and community service programs based on economic empowerment. This step is expected to strengthen the role of both institutions in providing tangible benefits to the community.

This collaboration, which began last year, is expected to be the beginning of various joint innovations between the two parties. Through ITS technology expertise and CIMB Niaga’s digital financial development needs, the two parties agreed to continue promoting Indonesia’s development through financial literacy and relevant digital innovation.
This collaborative effort supports the achievement of ITS’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly point 8 on decent work and economic growth, and point 17 on partnerships to achieve these goals. (ITS Public Relations)
