ITS Chancellor Prof. Dr. (HC) Ir. Bambang Pramujati ST MSc Eng PhD enthusiastically welcomed the collaboration with PT BSI.
ITS Campus, ITS News — The Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) continues to strengthen its tangible and sustainable impact on the community’s economic ecosystem. This was demonstrated by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) and BSI Maslahat at the ITS Rectorate Building on Tuesday (2/12).
Attended by several ITS and BSI leaders, the signing was carried out by ITS Rector Dr. (HC) Ir. Bambang Pramujati, ST, MSc, Eng, PhD, and BSI Regional CEO, Region 8 Surabaya, Jajang Abdul Karim. Through this memorandum of understanding, ITS promotes an economic and social empowerment ecosystem that has a real impact on the people’s economy.
The ITS Rector explained that the collaboration between ITS and BSI is aimed at strengthening the social and economic empowerment ecosystem based on Islamic values. The programs prepared include halal entrepreneurship training, Islamic financial literacy, green economics, and strengthening Islamic boarding schools and fostered villages. “This program will be managed by ITS through the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DRPM),” Bambang explained.

The ITS Mechanical Engineering Department professor added that BSI’s support also comes through the distribution of the BSI Scholarship. Since 2021, these scholarships have been awarded to 123 ITS students from various study programs. “This program encourages students to develop as young leaders with character and social awareness,” he said.
On the same occasion, the Regional CEO of Region 8 Surabaya BSI emphasized that the direction of BSI’s programs aligns with the ITS Advancing Humanity vision, which prioritizes social awareness. He noted that the values established by ITS align with BSI’s goal of strengthening students’ roles in society.

In addition to the signing of the PKS, a symbolic laptop handover was also held for the scholarship recipients. Jajang hopes this facility will help students strengthen their academic performance and community service activities. “With this facility, we hope they can have a greater impact on the wider community,” he added.
