ITS Director of Student Affairs Nur Syahroni ST MT PhD gave encouragement to the ITS Bayucaraka Team which will compete in the 2025 National KRTI event.
ITS Campus, Surabaya — Having successfully passed all regional selection stages for the 2025 Indonesian Flying Robot Contest (KRTI), the Bayucaraka Team of the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) officially introduced its newest flying robot that will compete on the national stage on Friday (10/10). ITS’s proud flying robot team is ready to sweep all the titles at the 2025 National KRTI event on October 16-21 at Andalas University, Padang.
Representing the ITS Rector, ITS Director of Student Affairs Nur Syahroni, ST, MT, PhD, expressed his appreciation to the ITS Bayucaraka Team for their consistent achievement at both the national and international levels. “This team’s success is the result of the hard work and enthusiasm of its members,” he said.
Furthermore, the lecturer, familiarly known as Roni, advised the ITS Bayucaraka Team to continue achieving the highest possible achievements without forgetting their humility. He reminded them that every success fuels their enthusiasm for future innovation. “Hopefully, the ITS Bayucaraka Team can bring home the overall championship at the upcoming KRTI,” he concluded optimistically.
Members of the ITS Bayucaraka Team explained the technical and technological aspects of the Palkonjet aircraft which will compete in the Racing Plane division at the 2025 National KRTI.
ITS Bayucaraka Team General Manager Rama Suryansyah Budianto explained that there are five competition categories in this year’s KRTI. These five categories are Racing Plane (RP), Technology Development (TD), Vertical Take-Off Landing (VTOL), Fixed Wing (FW), and Long Endurance Low Altitude (LELA). “In the regional selection, we even set a record for the fastest time,” he said proudly.
In the RP or fast flight division, Rama said, the ITS Bayucaraka Team will again deploy its flagship aircraft, the PALKONJET. Meanwhile, in the TD division, which focuses on technology development, the TABEBUYA aircraft will be deployed, and in the VTOL division, as an advanced level of technology development, the SOEROKUV2 drone will be deployed. Meanwhile, in the LELA division, as a long-distance flight implementation, and the FW division, which focuses on real-world applications, the ABABEEL and BRB-29 aircraft will be deployed.
General Manager of the ITS Bayucaraka Team, Rama Suryansyah Budianto, explained his team’s readiness to compete in the 2025 National KRTI at the Grand Launching event at the ITS Research Center Building.
Regarding team readiness, the 2022 student explained that his team has been conducting research and preparation for a full year. For example, in the TD division, Rama explained that this year TABEBUYA itself developed a remote control and monitor into a single integrated device. “This way, pilots can control and monitor the detection area more efficiently and practically,” Rama explained.
Rama added that improvements were also made to the aircraft’s fuselage material using 3D printing technology. This new design makes the aircraft’s body stronger and more heat-resistant, allowing it to operate optimally in a variety of environmental conditions. TABEBUYA is also equipped with the ability to detect fire up to a height of 50 meters and detect humans at a distance of up to 30 meters. “All components of this aircraft are the result of our own team’s independent work,” Rama added proudly.
Members of the ITS Bayucaraka Team explained the technology of the aircraft that will be used to compete in the 2025 National KRTI.
For your information, KRTI 2025 is an annual event that brings together the best unmanned aerial robot development teams from various universities in Indonesia. By participating in this event, the ITS Bayucaraka Team also contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point 9 on Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
Finally, the ITS Bayucaraka Team’s supervisor, Aldinata Rizky Revanda, ST, MT, aimed for his team to reach the top step of the podium in the competition. Aldinata expressed his hope that all the team’s hard work would be rewarded with victory. “Take advantage of this opportunity to learn, serve, and broaden your experience,” he advised.
