ITS Campus, ITS News — In an effort to celebrate its 65th Anniversary, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) launched the IDR 65 Thousand Donation Movement for the ITS Endowment Fund. This movement invites all ITS academics, alumni, and the general public to donate a minimum of IDR 65 thousand as support for the ITS Endowment Fund.

The Head of the ITS Endowment Fund Management Agency (LPDA), Dr. Eng. Kriyo Sambodho, ST, MEng, said that this program was born as a form of ITS’s commitment to becoming a financially independent campus. Since becoming a Legal Entity State University (PTN-BH) in 2014, ITS has been required to no longer fully depend on government funding. “Therefore, alternative funding such as an endowment fund is very important for the sustainability of our campus (ITS, ed.),” said the lecturer who is often called Dhodot.

The movement, which was launched by the Rector of ITS, Prof. Dr. (HC) Ir. Bambang Pramujati, ST, MScEng, PhD, during the celebration of the 80th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), is a tangible manifestation of ITS in realizing the three pillars of higher education. Dhodot revealed that the ITS Endowment Fund has successfully distributed aid to ITS academics in the form of scholarships, competition assistance, start-up coaching, research, and community service.

The launch of the IDR 65 Thousand Donation Movement for the ITS Endowment Fund by the Rector of ITS, Prof. Dr. (HC) Ir. Bambang Pramujati, ST, MScEng, PhD, during the 80th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) ceremony.

The man from Surabaya mentioned that to date, the ITS Endowment Fund has collected IDR 126 billion, almost all of which is invested through state Islamic finance through the Cash Waqf Linked Sukuk scheme at the Indonesian Waqf Board (BWI). This investment is an effort to maintain the principal fund and the investment returns are distributed as aid.

In more detail, added the lecturer from the ITS Department of Marine Engineering, the ITS Endowment Fund has successfully spread benefits to 1,721 students since 2021 by distributing scholarships reaching a figure of IDR 10.6 billion. In the future, this number will continue to increase as the participation of many parties who donate to the ITS Endowment Fund increases. “Therefore, we present various movements to achieve this goal,” he said.

The IDR 65 Thousand Donation Movement for the ITS Endowment Fund program invites anyone to donate a minimum of IDR 65 thousand to contribute to providing benefits for ITS academics. Certain moments will be a means for LPDA ITS to initiate similar movements in order to raise awareness of more parties regarding the massive benefits of the ITS Endowment Fund.

Dhodot also emphasized that transparency is the main key in maintaining public trust in the management of the ITS Endowment Fund. All financial reports related to the ITS Endowment Fund can be accessed freely through the official website danaabadi.its.ac.id. Not only that, LPDA ITS also regularly shares the development of endowment fund donations through social media. “The hope is that it can increase public trust to also donate,” he added.

The IDR 65 Thousand Donation Movement for the ITS Endowment Fund is a form of ITS’s commitment in realizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point 4 concerning quality education. This program supports efforts to improve the quality of education at ITS by providing scholarships, competition assistance, and research for ITS academics, thus creating greater opportunities for students to continuously develop their potential.
