Indonesian Minister of Creative Economy Dr Teuku Riefky Harsya BSc MT When delivering a guest lecture at the Studium Generale at Graha ITS
ITS Campus, ITS News — The enthusiasm for welcoming Golden Indonesia 2045 was palpable in the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) of the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) . Held at Grha Sepuluh Nopember, this activity directly invited the Minister of Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia (Menekraf RI) Teuku Riefky Harsya BSc MT to equip the 2025 ITS new students (maba) in preparing a resilient generation, Tuesday (5/8).
The Minister of Creative Economy and Head of the Indonesian Creative Economy Agency (BeKraf) explained that over the past 11 years, employment growth in the creative economy has continued to soar by 89 percent. According to the man, often known as Riefky, this growth is dominated by millennials and Generation Z (Gen Z). “These two generations will be the architects of the future of Indonesia’s creative economy,” he said.
ITS Chancellor Prof. Ir. Bambang Pramujati ST MScEng PhD invited ITS 2025 new students to be enthusiastic about achieving success in the ITS PKKMB activities.
Riefky further revealed that many young people are now making significant contributions through the creative economy, from developing culture-based startups to participating in creative business incubators. This is a crucial step in the digital transformation of the creative industry, a key to realizing the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045. “The younger generation is also leveraging global markets and technology to create their work,” he explained.
To support this, Riefky explained that the Indonesian Ministry of Creative Economy has also initiated eight flagship BeKraf program clusters to strengthen Indonesia’s creative economy ecosystem. These eight programs include data creative economy, wise creative economy, creative economy talent, creative economy infrastructure, creative economy synergy, creative economy market, creative economy fund, and rich creative economy. The synergy of all these programs is focused on strengthening every stage of Indonesia’s creative industry chain.
Furthermore, the Jakarta native emphasized that collaboration between the younger generation and educational institutions is also a crucial element in sustainable national development. Universities play a crucial role as innovation incubators for their students to become empowered. “Innovations born from the campus environment are expected to have a broad impact on society,” he explained.

As a form of implementation, the man born on June 28, 1987, explained that the Indonesian Ministry of Creative Economy has currently formed a consortium with eight universities, including ITS. This collaboration has three main focuses: the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, human resource development, and creative economy development. “This consortium serves as a collaborative platform for developing creative talent to support Indonesia’s creative industry,” Riefky said.
In line with Riefky’s opinion, ITS Rector Prof. Ir. Bambang Pramujati ST MSc Eng PhD added, ITS is determined to prepare its students to welcome the golden generation era of 2045. By providing facilities and opportunities during their studies, students are encouraged to continue developing their potential. “Today’s PKKMB activity is one part of strengthening the character of ITS new students,” said the man who is familiarly called BP.

ITS new students diligently took notes and listened to a guest lecture entitled Preparing a Resilient Generation for Golden Indonesia 2045 delivered by the Indonesian Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya BSc MT, in the Studium Generale at the ITS PKKMB Activity at Grha Sepuluh Nopember.Furthermore, BP also advised the students to inspire and instill all of Riefky’s messages within themselves. He believes that ITS students are potential candidates for excellence who will make significant contributions to national development. “You are part of the nation’s chosen young generation,” he emphasized.
Finally, this activity also serves as concrete evidence of ITS’s support for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) . Several points supported include point 4 on quality education, point 8 on decent work and economic growth, and point 17 on partnerships to achieve the goals. (ITS Public Relations)
