ITS Campus, ITS News – Not only shining domesticall, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) also proves the quality of its education on the global stage. This time, three students from the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) of the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Science and Data Analytics (FSAD), ITS completed a Double Degree program at the University of Essex, United Kingdom.
Head of the Department of Statistics at ITS, Dr rer pol Dedy Dwi Prastyo SSi MSi, expressed his pride in the outstanding achievements of the three students. The three students are Daariin Marwaa Aaqilah, Netanya Xaviera Dewi, and Jocelyn Steviani Obert. “These three female students are the first graduates to complete the Double Degree program between the Department of Statistics at ITS and the University of Essex,” he said.
To celebrate and share the achievements of these three female students, the Department of Statistics at ITS also held an online Mini-Seminar on Final Projects (TA). Through this activity, the three graduates presented their research focused on critical issues related to development in Indonesia. “It is hoped that this activity will inspire other ITS students to enhance their internationalization experience,” said Dedy.
In her presentation, one of the graduates, Daariin Marwaa Aaqilah, presented a research topic on the Analysis of Human Development Index (HDI) Disparities Across Regions in Indonesia. This research aims to understand development disparities and assist in formulating more targeted policies for various regions in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Jocelyn Steviani Obert addressed the topic of Cluster Analysis on the Relationship between Socio-Economic and Health Factors and Provincial Development in Indonesia. Her research offers a comprehensive perspective on how various aspects of welfare and the economy influence the progress of a province in Indonesia.
Equally important, Netanya Xaviera Dewi focused on the topic of Machine Learning to Evaluate Socio-Economic Sustainability Indicators Around Indonesia’s Future Capital City. This research is highly relevant to national strategic projects that provide data-driven insights for the sustainable planning of Indonesia’s future capital city.
Finally, Dedy added that the ITS Statistics Department not only offers a Double Degree program for IUP students but also supports all its students in gaining equal opportunities for international experience. “This experience will undoubtedly be highly beneficial for students, both for personal development and future careers,” he added.
Beyond just a double degree, the success of these three students also strengthens the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Point 4 on quality education, and Point 17 on partnerships to achieve the goals. This achievement reflects ITS’s commitment to equipping students with global skills and fostering sustainable collaboration. (ITS Public Relations)
