ITS Campus, ITS News — Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) never stops providing support for every potential and achievement of the nation’s youth. This time, the step was taken by the ITS Department of Information Technology (DTI) which made a direct visit to a prospective student who won a Golden Ticket from National Vocational High School (SMK) 7 Semarang, on Monday (7/7).

The granting of special access to become an ITS student is an award for the winner of a competition in the field of Internet of Things (IoT) and cybersecurity, namely OlimpITS ARA 6.0, organized by DTI ITS last January. Remarkably, for two consecutive years, the recipient of the free pass pathway to become a DTI student has been held by students from this leading vocational school in Semarang.

In the previous year, the victory was achieved by Ahmad Idza Anafin and Ardhi Putra Pradana in OlimpITS ARA 5.0. Continuing the winning streak, this year the victory was again seized by their juniors, namely Umar and Evandra Raditya Fauzan, who formed one team. As a form of appreciation, before heading to the school, the two prospective students were also personally picked up at their respective residences and given supporting equipment for their future studies at ITS.

On this occasion, the Head of the ITS Department of Information Technology, Dr techn Ir Raden Venantius Hari Ginardi MSc, explained that to help address the economic challenges faced by the two students from Semarang, assistance was also provided to reduce the single tuition fee (UKT) to the minimum possible. Not only that, both students will also be assisted in obtaining scholarships to support their living expenses during their studies. “The department will also assist in paying their UKT later,” he added.

Furthermore, the lecturer commonly called Hari revealed that this consistent achievement prompted his team to visit the school, formerly known as STM Pembangunan, directly. “This excellence also attracted us to provide additional support,” he said.
