Director of Research and Community Service (DRPM) ITS Fadlilatul Taufany ST PhD explaining the amount of research and community service funded in 2025
ITS Campus, ITS News — Reaffirming its commitment as an impactful campus, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) demonstrated its excellence in the field of research and community service (abmas). A total of 254 research and community service proposals from ITS were successfully funded in the 2025 Research and Community Service Program, placing ITS in third place as the recipient of the most research funding.
For information, the 2025 Research and Community Service Program is a competitive funding program launched by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek). In the program, it is divided into two schemes, namely research and community service, which are expected to build a better research ecosystem and present innovative solutions for national economic growth.
Director of Research and Community Service (DRPM) ITS Fadlilatul Taufany ST PhD said that the program funded 245 research proposal titles and nine community service proposal titles from ITS, so that there were a total of 254 proposals from ITS. “This number has increased from the previous year, which only received funding for 234 proposals,” said the lecturer who is usually called Taufany.

To achieve this result, DRPM ITS has implemented several strategic steps. Among them are the development of lecturers’ capacity in research, including assistance in preparing proposals and submitting proposals to the Research and Community Service Information Base (BIMA) service. In addition, ITS will also provide awards in the form of publication incentives to lecturers who successfully complete their international publication outputs.
Furthermore, the lecturer from the ITS Chemical Engineering Department stated that a total of 254 funded proposals received funds from the Ministry of Education and Science and Technology reaching Rp 21.17 billion. The amount of funding obtained increased from last year which reached Rp 19.69 billion for 234 titles. “This increase proves ITS’s commitment to building a research culture that has a real impact on the wider community,” he said.
In detail, the funding scheme obtained covers various types of research and community service. In particular, funding for community service also includes community empowerment based on partnerships and student participation. “Research topics funded include information and communication technology (ICT), defense and security, advanced materials, maritime, transportation, engineering products, and so on,” explained Taufany.

He emphasized that the funding obtained is more than just a matter of numbers. Therefore, the funds will be allocated optimally and as well as possible for cross-disciplinary collaboration, active student involvement, and protection of intellectual property rights. “Not only that, the funds are also an important milestone in expanding ITS’s research contributions,” he said.
This funding assistance from Kemdiktisaintek will be a driving force for ITS to produce works that are not only academically superior, but also have a positive impact on society. ITS’s commitment to utilizing research funds and community service is also closely related to efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals point 4 on Quality Education. (ITS PUBLIC RELATIONS)
