ITS Campus, ITS News — Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) continues to show its commitment to expanding its international cooperation network. This time through its participation in the International Partnership Week organized by the Higher School of Economics (HSE) – Saint Petersburg, Russia, 20 – 24 Mei 2025.
The event, which took place at the new HSE campus on Vasilievsky Island, was attended by more than 100 delegates from 50 well-known universities in 23 countries, covering Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. On this occasion, ITS was directly represented by the Vice Rector IV for Innovation, Research, Cooperation and Alumni Affairs, Prof Muhamad Hatta ST MSi PhD, who also became a speaker in the main forum entitled ‘A New Approach to International Cooperation: A Universities’ View’.
In the forum, Hatta emphasized ITS’s commitment to build research collaboration, student exchanges, and the development of education based on technology and sustainability. “ITS is here to strengthen international collaboration oriented towards the development of joint research, student exchanges, as well as educational innovations based on technology and sustainability,” stated Hatta in the plenary session.

In this series of activities, ITS also signed a memorandum of understanding or Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HSE – Saint Petersburg. This signing became part of strategic steps to build international cooperation in the field of collaborative research, student and lecturer mobility programs, as well as the development of global curriculum.
This MoU was signed simultaneously with four other universities from Brazil, Colombia, and Egypt. “This cooperation also strengthens ITS’s position as one of Indonesia’s higher education institutions that is active in global education diplomacy,” Hatta stated optimistically.
Interestingly, in this activity ITS also took part in the opening of a joint design exhibition between HSE Art and Design School and ITS, which displayed creative works of students from both institutions. This exhibition became a symbol of cultural synergy between nations while also showcasing the potential for creative innovation of the nation’s young people on the international stage.

The International Partnership Week was also attended by university leaders from around the world, including from the University of Delhi (India), Vietnam National University, Hamad bin Khalifa University (Qatar), and University of La Sabana (Colombia), as well as diplomatic representatives from various countries.
ITS’s participation in this prestigious forum is part of concrete steps to manifest ITS as a globally competitive campus. “We are confident that international cooperation will enrich the insight of the academic community and increase the competitiveness of graduates at the global level,” said this ITS Professor of Engineering Physics.
ITS’s participation in the International Partnership Week also supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Among them SDG point 4 about quality education, namely through the development of student and lecturer exchange programs to increase access and quality of higher education based on technology and sustainability. In addition, it also supports SDG point 9 about industry, innovation and infrastructure, as well as point 17 about partnership for the goals. (ITS PUBLIC RELATIONS)
