ITS Campus, ITS News — Rector of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Prof Ir Bambang Pramujati ST MSc Eng PhD and East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Grahadi State Building after attending the National Education Day (Hardiknas) ceremony on Friday (2/5). This step marks a continued commitment to implementing the SENOPATI (Sepuluh Nopember Personal Assistant with Intelligence) platform, which was developed by an ITS research team.
The event began with the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between ITS and the East Java Provincial Education Department (Jatim) regarding the utilization of SENOPATI. This AI-based platform will be used as a teaching assistant and learning tool for teachers and students at senior high schools (SMAN/SMKN) across East Java.
According to Bambang, SENOPATI has also supported the New Student Admission System (SPMB) process and the introduction of artificial intelligence material at the secondary education level. “This technology is designed to address the need for quick and relevant information retrieval and is an important part of the digital transformation in the education sector in East Java,” said the Professor of Mechanical Engineering at ITS.
Bambang noted that this collaboration marks an important milestone in expanding ITS’s contributions to human resource development and digital infrastructure in the region. He also emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration to create a sustainable digital education ecosystem. “We aim for SENOPATI’s benefits to extend beyond supporting teachers and students, but also to support an adaptive education system based on the latest technology,” he explained.

On this occasion, Khofifah also commended ITS’s role in driving AI-based innovation to address contemporary challenges. She emphasized that the continuity of this collaboration is crucial for expanding educational access and accelerating digital transformation in East Java. “SENOPATI will also serve as a tool for us to monitor and evaluate the ongoing collaboration with ITS within the framework of Smart Governance,” she added.
From now on, SENOPATI will be expanded for implementation across various provincial government agencies in East Java as part of a cross-sectoral monitoring and evaluation system. With its intelligent algorithms and contextual data processing capabilities, SENOPATI is expected to support government efficiency and promote transparency and accountability in technology-based public services.
Beyond the education and government sectors, the development of SENOPATI will also be directed toward the healthcare sector as a digital assistant for patients, a provider of medical information, and potential integration with interactive robotic devices. This demonstrates that SENOPATI is a multi-sectoral innovation adaptable to various community needs.
The signing of this cooperation agreement aligns with efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 on quality education. The implementation of SENOPATI as an AI-based solution demonstrates the tangible contributions of ITS and the East Java Provincial Government in creating an inclusive and equitable education system, as well as accelerating sustainable digital transformation.
The signing of this MoU also marks part of the celebration of Hardiknas. By reinforcing the message that collaboration between universities and the government plays a crucial role in shaping Indonesia’s future as an innovative, inclusive, and highly competitive nation through the utilization of AI-based technology.
