Speakers in the online socialization of the FAST-D Scholarship, Unggul Scholarship, and Global Excellence Scholarship

ITS Campus, ITS News – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) always shows its commitment in supporting students to develop their best potential. One of them is shown by socializing the FAST-D Scholarship, Unggulan Scholarship, and Global Excellence Scholarship online, Thursday (24/4) afternoon, which was also attended by lecturers who have the potential to become promoters of postgraduate students.

In his opening remarks, ITS Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs Prof. Nurul Widiastuti SSi MSi PhD revealed that this scholarship program is intended for postgraduate students with superior potential. He also hopes that this program can help improve ITS’s ranking in the international arena. “Not only that, the goal of this program is also in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point 4, which is about quality education,” said the Professor of the ITS Chemistry Department .

Furthermore, the Director of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Education ITS Prof Dr Eng Chastine Fatichah SKom MKom added, this program is also open to international students who will continue their studies at ITS. “The increase in international students can be a bridge to expand ITS research collaboration with global partners,” explained the Professor of the Department of Informatics Engineering ITS .

Head of the ITS Postgraduate Sub-Directorate Dr Eng Ardyono Priyadi ST MEng explained the terms and conditions for scholarship recipients and promoters of the FAST-D Scholarship.

Meanwhile, Head of the Postgraduate Sub-Directorate of the ITS Undergraduate and Postgraduate Education Directorate Dr Eng Ardyono Priyadi ST MEng explained that the Fast-D Scholarship is a four-year master’s and doctoral program scholarship intended for outstanding undergraduate graduates. Meanwhile, the ITS Unggulan Scholarship is a three-year doctoral program intended for master’s graduates with the provision of having one first-name publication in an accredited national journal of at least SINTA 4, or an international seminar indexed by Scopus or web of science.

The lecturer from the ITS Electrical Engineering Department explained that the main requirement for prospective scholarship recipients is to have the status of Indonesian Citizen (WNI). This scholarship is open to recent graduates (fresh graduates). “Especially ITS alumni from the 130th, 131st, and 132nd graduations, as well as graduates from outside ITS who have completed their studies no later than September 2024,” added Ardyono.

Head of the Subdirectorate of International Cooperation and Mobility ITS Octaviyanti Dwi Wahyurini ST MAppDesArt PhD explained the stages for the FAST-D Scholarship and the Unggulan Scholarship.

On the same occasion, Head of the Sub-Directorate of Promotion and International Mobility of the Directorate of Global Partnership (DKG) ITS Octaviyanti Dwi Wahyurini ST MAppDesArt PhD explained that the Global Excellence Scholarship program is a three-year doctoral program for international students. “Different from the Unggulan Scholarship, this scholarship program requires additional special documents such as including a passport and a statement letter containing the reasons for choosing to study in Indonesia and academic plans,” explained the lecturer from the Department of Global Communication Design (DKV) ITS.

Later, continued the woman who is usually called Oyn, students will receive free tuition fees and living expenses of Rp 5 million per month during the specified study period. In addition, students will also receive research funds of Rp 50 million per year which are given starting from the second year.

Lecturers who will become prospective promoters of students receiving the FAST-D Scholarship and the Unggulan Scholarship must have a Scopus H-index of at least 8, while for the ITS Global Excellence Scholarship it must be at least 6. In addition, promoters are required to have a functional position of at least Senior Lecturer and have a doctoral degree.

The registration stage for prospective students will begin on July 1-29, 2025 after the selection process for prospective promoters with stages of socialization, recruitment, selection process, and announcement in the period from April 24 to May 9, 2025.
