Bekti Cahyo Hidayanto SSi MKom, Executive Secretary of SNPMB 2025, explained the online account registration process for SNBT-UTBK 2025 participants
ITS Campus, ITS News — As the registration period for the National Selection Based on Tests (in Indonesian terms, Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Tes, abbreviated and will be referred to as SNBT) approaches, the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) is once again preparing itself as one of the testing centers for the Computer-Based Written Test (in Indonesian terms, Ujian Tulis Berbasis Komputer, abbreviated and will be referred to as UTBK). Through a socialization event titled “From Exams to Dreams: Let’s Take the UTBK at ITS!” held in a hybrid format on Saturday (22/2), ITS offered various benefits for participants who choose to take the UTBK test at the Pahlawan Campus.
In her presentation, Head of the ITS Admissions and Promotion Subdirectorate Nani Kurniati ST MT PhD explained that ITS has prepared various benefits for UTBK 2025 participants through superior and adequate facilities. “One of the reasons participants choose the UTBK location at ITS is because the place is quite spacious and supported by various advanced technologies,” she explained.
These benefits are not only available to participants when they take the UTBK, but also when they continue their studies at ITS later on. Neni said that ITS is a great place to pursue the right career because of its learning environment that supports both academic and non-academic potential. This is achieved through a balanced learning experience between academic and environmental aspects in the city of Surabaya. “Through learning facilities at three locations: the main campus (Sukolilo Campus), city campus (Tjokroaminoto Campus), and district campus (Manyar Campus),” she added.

Supporting a balanced learning environment, Nani revealed that ITS also collaborates with alumni who have careers in companies. Through this collaboration, ITS implements project-based learning through a company case study. “This provides direct learning experiences related to various issues in the work environment,” said the lecturer from the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at ITS.
With these facilities and learning experiences, ITS has won various awards in the fields of research and technology, entrepreneurship, and science. Nani said that ITS’s achievements could also pave the way for ITS graduates to pursue careers in various well-known companies in the future.
Meanwhile, Executive Secretary of the 2025 National Entrance Selection for New Students (in Indonesian terms, Seleksi Nasional Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru, abbreviated and will be referred to as SNPMB) Bekti Cahyo Hidayanto SSi MKom revealed that there are several things that prospective students must pay attention to in preparing for the 2025 UTBK. First, regarding the timeline for account registration and SNBT enrollment, which will take place from March 11 to 27, 2025. “Participants are advised to register as soon as possible to avoid any potential issues during the enrollment process,” he emphasized.

Furthermore, Bekti also emphasized that there will be a change in the duration of the UTBK, which was previously held in two stages, to only one stage this year. The 2025 UTBK will be held for 10 days from April 23 to May 3, 2025. “For this reason, participants are expected to immediately register at the nearest UTBK location,” he emphasized.
Regarding the study program requirements, the lecturer from the Information Systems Department of ITS said that participants are allowed to choose a maximum of four study programs with special conditions for the third and fourth choices. For these four program choices, participants may select two undergraduate programs (S1) and two vocational programs, or one undergraduate program (S1) and three vocational programs. “The combination of these two choices must include at least one Diploma 3 (D3) program,” he explained.

This bespectacled man also reminded participants about their portfolios during the registration process. The portfolios to be uploaded should be relevant to the study program chosen. Participants who have previously taken part in SNBP are allowed to upload the same portfolio, but it is recommended that they use a new one. “Because it carries considerable weight, accounting for 50 percent,” Bekti emphasized.
Finally, Bekti also reminded participants of the two types of material that will be covered in the UTBK, namely the Scholastic Potential Test and the Literacy Test. The Scholastic Potential Test includes sub-subjects such as General Reasoning, General Knowledge and Understanding, Reading Comprehension and Writing, and Quantitative Knowledge. Meanwhile, the Literacy Test consists of Indonesian Language Literacy, English Language Literacy, and Mathematical Reasoning. “The types of questions in the Literacy Test will be closely related to students’ interests in school,” concluded this alumnus of the Mathematics undergraduate program at ITS.
