ITS Campus, ITS News — Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has once again achieved outstanding success at the 2024 Student Creativity Program (PKM) Awards. Held in Jakarta on Monday (August 19), ITS proudly took home six awards.
Among the accolades, ITS secured first place as the university with the highest number of incentive recipients in Cluster 1, with 45 groups, and second place as the university with the most funded teams, totaling 147 groups. Additionally, ITS was recognized as the best PKM 2024 operator in Cluster 1.
In the category of the most creative student team in the PKM for the Application of Science and Technology (IPTEK), ITS also excelled with a team led by Istighfaroh Rima Nafiullatif. Their innovative idea, the implementation of Biofeed Modified Microbes supported by Internet of Things (IoT) Powered Intelligent Surveillance to enhance BSF quality at Istana Maggot Surabaya, secured the top spot in Cluster 1.
Furthermore, ITS earned two awards in the category for lecturers who successfully guided the most student teams in securing funding and incentives. These awards went to Hertiari Idajati ST MSc and Muhammad Syifaul Mufid SS MSi DPhil, both of whom guided seven teams each in PKM 2024, collectively helping 14 teams succeed in Cluster 1.
The PKM Award 2024 is part of the Evaluation of PKM Progress (PKP2) event. “This event serves as a form of mentoring, aimed at motivating recipients to cultivate awareness of societal issues,” said Prof. Dr. Ir. Sri Suning Kusumawardani ST MT, Director of Learning and Student Affairs at the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.
Meanwhile, ITS Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Nurul Widiastuti SSi MSi PhD, expressed pride and gratitude for ITS’s recent accomplishments at the PKM Award 2024. She emphasized that this success is the result of the long journey undertaken by the academic community in creating innovative products.
The ITS professor of membrane and adsorption chemistry also expressed hope that this achievement would further inspire ITS to continue producing innovations and contributing to society. “Moreover, ITS is committed to nurturing students to become productive, innovative, resilient, excellent, intelligent, trustworthy, and creative individuals,” she concluded.
