ITS Campus, ITS News – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) continues to prove its commitment to innovating to provide clean and environmentally friendly energy solutions in Indonesia. This time, ITS through PT ITS Tekno Sains collaborated with PT Panggung Electric Citrabuana to inaugurate the first production of the EVITS electric motorbike, last Thursday (21/12).
In this activity held at PT Panggung Electric Citrabuana, ITS Rector Prof Dr Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng revealed that this collaboration is important to carry out, because the task of higher education is currently no longer limited to teaching. However, universities also need to implement their innovative work into commercial products that can provide economic value for all parties, including society.
The man who is familiarly called Ashari said that he was confident that this collaboration would continue to develop. “There is no need to doubt the quality of PT Panggung Electric Citrabuana, it has even been proven since I was at university,” he said.
Director of PT ITS Tekno Sains Dr Ir I Ketut Gunarta MT said that reaching this point required a struggle that was not easy. PT ITS Tekno Sains together with PT Panggung Electric Citrabuana, through their researchers carried out various stages of research which took almost a year so that the EVITS electric motorbike was able to answer various consumer needs.
Furthermore, from these various processes the first generation of EVITS was born, namely EVITS TS-1. EVITS is an electric motorbike equipped with an ergonomic design and good acceleration capabilities, thus providing comfort for the rider. Apart from that, this vehicle is also equipped with a battery that can last up to 60 kilometers.
Not only that, this man, who is familiarly called Gunarta, also said that currently PT ITS Tekno Sains is also developing three other types of electric motorbikes. Currently, these three types of electric motorbikes have entered the initial development stage. “All three are planned to be launched in 2024,” he said.
Agreeing with what Ashari and Gunarta said, Director of PT Panggung Electric Citrabuana Win Winarjadi said that PT Panggung Electric Citrabuana was happy to be part of the supply management in EVITS production. Apart from that, he also feels proud to be able to present environmentally friendly products to the public. “Hopefully this collaboration can have a good impact on the country, the nation and all of us,” he hoped.
