ITS Campus, ITS News – In line with the vision to become a World Class University (WCU), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) is increasingly expanding its network of international partners with foreign universities. This time, ITS’s move was shown by the signing of an online Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC), Philippines, Wednesday (13/1).
Delivered by the vice-rector IV ITS for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Alumni, Bambang Pramujati ST MSc Eng PhD, the validation of this memorandum of understanding is aimed at promoting partnership and cooperation between the two institutions, resulting in a fruitful collaboration. “Also, ITS and CSPC have many similarities in competition for academic achievement for the nation, especially in the fields of engineering, science, and business management,” said Bambang.
Amidst this pandemic, Bambang hopes that the two parties can remain connected so that they can strengthen the internationalization mission. This can be started by initiating an e-program that invites CSPC campus students to ITS through e-exchange, e-internship, and e-short programs. “After the pandemic is over, then we can hold face-to-face meetings by directly receiving CSPC students in Indonesia,” explained the lecturer at the ITS Mechanical Engineering Department.
Bambang said that seeing the current situation, online international learning (OIL) is one of the most likely partnerships to be implemented immediately. For that, he ensured, ITS would be happy to participate in the international program from CSPC. Coupled with the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) students who require to study abroad, ITS will also send its students to join the program to CSPC.
In line with ITS good reception at the start of this collaboration, the President of CSPC Dr. Charlito P Cadag, admitted that he is looking forward to a productive partnership by taking advantage of opportunities that can be collaborated in the future. Dr. Cadag revealed that the memorandum of understanding signing ceremony was an extraordinary opportunity for CSPC to start a new journey with ITS. “Because internationalization itself is one of our top priorities as a university,” he said.
internationalization is valued in three aspects, that said, views, priorities, and people. Therefore, he said, CSPC needs an international perspective to answer its focus in all fields, such as arts, social sciences, humanities, biomedical and physics, also technology. “We realize that to be able to move forward, we need to cooperate with ITS,” said the doctor in Philosophy in Development Education.
Furthermore, the man who is familiarly called Dr. Cadag said that this ceremony was the beginning of history for the two institutions to unite in passion, ambition, and innovation. According to him, currently, ITS and CSPC are in the stage of moving into a new and critical period in their history, therefore this moment can be used to create a brighter future for all parties. Not only changing the stages of the relationship between the two institutions but also the way the two of them do things.
According to Dr. Cadag, in collaboration, there are challenges and opportunities. This challenge requires effort and commitment that needs to be done so that the collaboration between ITS and CSPC can be a productive partnership and under constant supervision. “We can use the supervision to double-check whether this partnership is going according to plan and both parties can be developed,” he explained.
Closing his commitment speech, CSPC emphasized that a wise partnership is based on trust and a clear understanding of the current situation and condition of each partner. “Hopefully this partnership can be useful for our future. Let us together create an attractive partnership full of values and ambitions, ”he concluded.
As additional information, ITS and CSPC agreed to work together in increasing educational opportunities for education staff and students with eight kinds of activities. Among these are the exchange of academic staff members for the purpose of research, teaching and presentation of specific courses in their field of specialization, and many more.
