ITS Business Management Department Opens International Class

ITS Campus, ITS News – A competitive dynamic business environment characterized by rapid technological change in industry 4.0, as well as increasingly worldwide competition. In response to the growing needs of the business world, the Business Management Department of ITS launched an International Undergraduate Program (IUP) class for ITS students.

The head of the Business Management Department, Dr oec HSG Syarifa Hanoum ST MT, revealed that not only does it address global business challenges, the IUP program is also aligned with its mission vision related to internationalization. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare yourself in the face of business players from all corners of the world. “Therefore, we need to open our minds, insights, and experiences to interact with different types of people from different nations and cultures,” said the bespectacled woman.

The program, which has been open since last month, Syarifa continued, is the right choice for students to help them in accepting challenges and experiences. Because, part of the time of study of IUP program is abroad in the form of international mobility (international activities), either in the form of a joint degree (collaboration degree) or study exchange ( exchange student).

To support the quota, the acceptance of prospective new students of the IUP program of the Business Management Department is available 30 seats. However, Syarifa revealed that in the first year, only 15 students will be accepted. “As an effort to publish, we will later do some marketing events packed in guest lectures as well as roadshows to several high schools,” she said.

To support the implementation of the program, ITS Business Management Department partners with the University of Queensland Australia and Rennes School of Business France as its partners. Also, they have conducted dozens of other cooperation with several foreign institutions and companies in Europe, Asia, and Australia.

In the following year, Syarifa targeted the IUP program of the Department of Business Management will get bigger and have more double degree options. “We look forward to working with institutions in the United Kingdom (UK) and Malaysia,” she added.

As the only department that offers business-related science, ITS Business Management Department wants to facilitate students with a variety of opportunities. “Students will be honed their English skills by teachers who are native English speakers come directly from England. Because the program will use English as its learning language,” she added.

At the end of the discussion, Syarifa hopes that this program can bring benefits for students who intend to continue their education abroad. “With this program, students not only get two degrees at the same time but also a dual alumni network, both at ITS and overseas partner universities,” she concluded.
