ITS Campus, ITS News – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) students continue to make their mark on the international stage. After securing second place last year, this time the Anargya ITS team triumphed with five titles, claiming the top spot on the podium in the Formula Bharat 7th Annual FSEV Concept Challenge (Pi-EV 2023) competition.
Pi-EV 2023 is an annual international competition organized by Formula Bharat, where students are challenged to design, engineer, and simulate a formula electric car. Beyond assessing the technical design of the car, the competition also tests participants in team management, procurement, and technical solution demonstrations on the track. The results of this virtual competition were announced on July 29th.
Nalendra Nuswantoro, the Tractive System and Controller Staff of the Anargya ITS Team, explained that there were three assessment categories in the competition. The Anargya ITS team secured first place in Team Management Strategy, first place in Engineering Design Event, second place in Procurement Strategy, as well as Best Battery Design and Best Powertrain Package awards. With these five titles, Anargya ITS successfully claimed the first place in the Overall Event. “We outperformed the other 10 international teams,” he proudly stated.

Furthermore, Ale, a student from the Electrical Engineering Department, mentioned that the innovations brought by the Anargya ITS team in this competition held in India represent the latest innovations with several advancements from previous competition innovations. “We improved the performance and safety of the electric car, making it better than last year,” said the 2003-born young man.
Moreover, Ale explained the developments in the design of the electric car from the previous year. These include increasing the car’s maximum speed to 121 kilometers per hour while adhering to the energy supply from the energy storage as per the Formula Society of Automotive Engineers (FSAE) competition qualifications.

Notably, the Anargya ITS design incorporates regenerative braking technology, which harnesses wasted energy to recharge the vehicle’s batteries. The car is also equipped with a remote telemetry monitoring system to accurately monitor the car’s condition while in motion. To enhance performance, the Anargya ITS-designed car also includes a cooling system and fuses within the internal battery.
In the overall car production process, according to Ale, the Anargya ITS team has its own strategy in managing the team. This encompasses various aspects, including marketing, finance, sponsorship, human resources, and team structure that effectively manages the team’s work at a micro level. “Additionally, in procurement, our team also scored high in procurement management, clarity and consistency, and budget allocation,” Ale explained.

Finally, the student from West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) hopes that Anargya ITS’s success in the Pi EV 2023 event will continue to drive their learning and growth. This competition serves as a stepping stone for the Anargya ITS Team as they prepare for various upcoming competitions, notably the FSAE Japan 2023 event scheduled for the end of August. “Especially FSAE Japan 2023, which will take place at the end of August,” he concluded.
