ITS Campus, ITS News – The efforts of the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November (ITS) in supporting online learning received a proud appreciation at the Online Learning System (SPADA) Award 2021 in the Best Higher Education category: Institutional Support for Online Learning, Monday (13/12). This award is given to universities that can provide the best support for online learning implementation.
The SPADA Award 2021 is organized by the Directorate General of Higher Education (Dikti) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek). This year is the first time this event has been held.
The Head of Sub-Directorate of Academic Development, Bagus Jati Santoso SKom Ph.D., revealed several assessment criteria in this category. Among them are planning, implementation, evaluation, support, and stimulus activities provided by each university in online learning performance.
In organizing online learning, Bagus continued that ITS had prepared good infrastructure, regulatory tools, and quality assurance even before entering the pandemic period. Therefore, Bagus believes that the shift towards online learning can be done well. “Because we have prepared the implementation of learning from before the pandemic period, the shift towards full online learning can be done quite well,” he said.
In addition, he continued, to support the quality of the implementation of online learning, ITS also carried out several incentive activities. These include Online Lecture Incentives, Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC), MOOC Development Programs, and Online Practicum Innovation Grants.
Bagus said that ITS would continue to develop to improve the quality of learning in the future. Some of the activities that ITS will carry out include increasing online learning training and workshops, expanding the capacity of supporting infrastructure, and several other activities that will make this happen.
Bagus hopes that this award will further encourage the quality of learning at ITS to be even better. Especially for hybrid learning which is being prepared by ITS. “Hopefully, later, the hybrid learning that will be carried out at ITS can run smoothly and well,” he concluded hopefully.
