ITS Campus, ITS News – Industrial partners are essential components for the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) in improving the quality of Human Resources (HR). This time, ITS agreed on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Pertamina International Shipping regarding cooperation in Education, Research, and Community Service and Technology Development, which was carried out online, Wednesday (19/5).

At the same time, the MoU was immediately followed up by signing two Cooperation Agreements (PKS) at once. First, PKS on the Implementation of Internship and Apprenticeship Programs. Next is PKS regarding the ITS Entrance Selection (SMITS) for Undergraduate, Applied Bachelor, and International Class Bachelors.

President Director of PT Pertamina International Shipping Erry Widiastono stated that this collaboration would be able to utilize existing resources at PT Pertamina International Shipping and ITS so that each of the advantages that exist in both is expected to be able to build a positive synergy for the welfare of the nation and state.

According to Erry, this MoU will also be followed up with various mutually beneficial PKS. “Hopefully, this collaboration can continue and can give blessings to all,” hoped Erry at the end of his speech.

Meanwhile, ITS Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng said that ITS already cooperates with companies that are members of the holding and sub-holding of PT Pertamina (Persero).

Some of them are the use of ship safety systems made by ITS. For example, many underwater Pertamina pipelines can be monitored, whether ships are crossing the channel or not. This will help the boat know where it is not allowed to lower anchor.

In addition, Pertamina has also assisted ITS in distributing Raisa robots during the pandemic in several regions in Indonesia. “Therefore, ITS appreciates and is grateful and is now able to synergize with PT Pertamina International Shipping,” said the Professor of Electrical Engineering.
