Solo, 31 January 2026 – To strengthen relationships and collaboration between alumni, industry, and educational institutions, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) held an Alumni and Industry Meeting as a strategic forum. This event was designed to strengthen networks that can support ITS’s vision of becoming a World Class University (WCU) and entering the top 300 in the QS World University Rankings.

Through this momentum, stakeholders have the opportunity to share ideas and opportunities for cooperation in the fields of education, research, and community service in order to build an education ecosystem that can operate optimally. The Vice Rector III for Human Resources, Organization, and Information Technology Systems (SDMO and TSI) at ITS, Imam Baihaqi ST MSc PhD, opened the event by delivering an enthusiastic message for the advancement of the institution. “Let’s work together for the noble goals of ITS and Indonesia,” he said enthusiastically.

The rector explained that ITS’s image on the international stage was built by professional lecturers and educators, high-quality students, a good campus ecosystem, and alumni who worked together synergistically. Lecturers from the ITS Business Management Department also emphasized that the role of alumni was very important in the ranking and strengthening of the campus brand image at the global level.

In line with this, ITS Rector Prof. Dr. (HC) Bambang Pramujati, ST, MScEng, PhD, emphasized the important role of graduates in the growth of higher education institutions. “ITS would not be what it is today without its alumni,” said the ITS Mechanical Engineering Professor.

He explained that although rankings were not the initial goal, alumni contributions through Academic Reputation (AR) and Employer Reputation (ER) assessments in the QS survey were important indicators of the campus’s success. With better synergy between the campus and the Alumni Association (IKA), it is hoped that ITS can build broader cooperation, both within the campus ecosystem and in the industrial world.

In addition, this collaboration is expected to have a tangible impact on new graduates, particularly in reducing the job waiting period from six months to zero months through a network of alumni who occupy strategic positions in various companies. Alumni support is also focused on strategic programs such as endowment funds and startup incubation to enhance global reputation.

In response to this initiative, alumni representative Prof. Syamsul Hadi expressed his gratitude and optimism that ITS can achieve its target of becoming one of the world’s 300 best universities through the increasingly intensive contributions of its alumni. This meeting serves as evidence of the ongoing commitment to gradually build an ecosystem to fully leverage the potential of alumni for the glory of ITS and Indonesia. This aligns with the target set in Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17 on Partnerships for the Goals. (*)
