ITS Campus, ITS News – Towards a research and development-based campus plan, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) is committed to continuing to build strategic cooperation globally. This is demonstrated through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Liuzhou OVM Machinery Co. Ltd from China which took place in the ITS Rectorate Room, Tuesday (24/6).

Liuzhou OVM Machinery Co. Ltd. Executive Deputy General Manager of International Business Division Hou Gang expressed his enthusiasm in building collaboration with ITS. This MoU does not only mean signing a document, but also a milestone in opening a new page on various opportunities in giving impact, trust, and sharing aspirations between ITS and OVM China.

Furthermore, Hou Gang stated that this cooperation is based on the fact that Indonesia has strategic development opportunities. OVM as a construction and infrastructure-based company, provides support facilities in ITS research projects in the prestressing industry, assistance in comprehensive student exchanges, and internships for ITS students. “Hopefully, through the signing of this MoU, it can be the beginning of a long-term cooperation to produce a new generation of engineers, and contribute to development in Indonesia,” he said hopefully.

This cooperation agreement was welcomed by the Vice Rector IV for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Alumni of ITS Prof. Agus Muhamad Hatta ST MSi PhD. Looking back, he emphasized that ITS is a campus with expertise in environmental planning and civil engineering, showing ITS’s consistency in its dedication to development.

The professor who is familiarly called Hatta emphasized that the collaboration with OVM China is one of the foundations to realize ITS as a campus that has an impact on society. The ITS Physics Engineering expert believes that this collaboration will have a big impact in achieving ITS’s vision as an impactful campus. “I believe that this collaboration will bring significant benefits to both parties, especially for ITS in supporting the strengthening of the education aspect through research and development activities,” he said optimistically.

Not only supporting research and development, this collaboration is also a form of ITS support for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) , especially in point 17, namely Partnership to achieve goals. In this case, ITS shows its commitment to establishing global strategic partnerships for the advancement of science, research, and technology. Not only that, this collaboration is also a realization of point 9 of the SDGs, namely industry, innovation, and infrastructure, which signifies ITS’s commitment to encouraging infrastructure development. (ITS PUBLIC RELATIONS)
