Graph of ITS ranking trend in QS WUR from year to year
ITS Campus, ITS News – In improving its reputation at the international level, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) continues to soar in the fields of education and research. This is proven by ITS’s position at rank 509 according to the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings (WUR) 2026 and 201–300 according to the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025.
Head of the ITS Quality Assurance Office (KPM), Prof. Dr. Ir. Sri Gunani Partiwi, MT., explained that in the QS WUR 2026, ITS rose above 76 positions from the previous position, which is from position 585 to 509. With this achievement, ITS ranks 6th as the best higher education institution in Indonesia. “The increase in ITS’s position in the QS WUR 2026 rankings this time is quite significant compared to its previous position,” she said proudly.
In this achievement, ITS succeeded in obtaining an overall score of 31.9. With the breakdown of indicator scores as follows: International Faculty 69.6; Faculty Student Ratio 62.1; Employer Reputation 60.2; Sustainability 52.5; International Research Network 27.6; Academic Reputation 27.4; Employment Outcomes 17; International Student 11.9; and Citations per Faculty 2.7.

Head of Institutional Reputation Unit of ITS KPM, Sarah Cahyadini ST MT PhD, explaining ITS’s strategy to improve ITS’s ranking in QS WUR 2026
Continuing from Nani, Head of the Institutional Reputation Unit at ITS KPM, Sarah Cahyadini, ST, MT, PhD, explained that ITS is focusing on building relations with foreign universities through its research and innovation programs. Not only with foreign universities, ITS also builds relationships with the government and industry which serves as ITS’s meaningful contribution to society. “This effort is one of our strategies in building a good reputation both nationally and internationally,” she stated.
Not only QS WUR, ITS also achieved a ranking of 201–300 on the international scale and ranked 6th in Indonesia based on the THE Impact Rankings 2025. Different from QS, THE assessments are measured through the contributions of universities to the 17 points of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). “However, QS and THE have the same WUR category, only the weighting of their indicators is different,” she explained.
Furthermore, in the THE Impact Rankings, ITS showed excellent performance in five SDG points. These are point 1 on No Poverty, point 6 on Clean Water and Sanitation, point 7 on Affordable and Clean Energy, point 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth, and point 15 on Life on Land. This achievement is the result of the hard work of the entire ITS academic community in supporting sustainable development.

This achievement has become real evidence that ITS continues to grow into a campus that is recognized nationally and globally through its quality education, research collaboration, and broad innovation impact. “This ranking is a platform for higher education institutions, especially ITS, to grow from time to time,” she said.
