ITS Campus, ITS News — Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has again achieved a brilliant achievement by bringing home a total of 13 medals from the 2025 East Java (Jatim) III Provincial Student Sports Week (Pomprov). At the event which lasted for eight days until Wednesday (4/6), ITS also successfully hosted the taekwondo and archery sports.
Head of Data and Student Welfare Section of the ITS Student Affairs Directorate (Ditmawa) Murdiono SKom MKom said that this time ITS sent a total of 124 athletes from various departments to compete in 13 sports. “The athletes are delegates sent by the Student Activity Unit (UKM) sports in the ITS environment,” he explained.
In the process, Murdiono continued, Ditmawa ITS initially asked each existing sports UKM to conduct an internal selection to determine athletes. When selected, Ditmawa ITS provided full support, including costs, to facilitate the athlete’s training process. “Next, we select and register the athletes and provide operational costs to each UKM,” said the man born in Madiun.

As one of the hosts, Murdiono added, ITS managed to win gold medals in two sports contested at the Heroes Campus. In the Archery sport, Khoirunnisa Laila Setiawati managed to bring home two titles, namely a gold medal in the Women’s Recurve Individual category and won a silver medal in the Recurve Mix Team category with Affan Ramadhani Adjfarisi.
Meanwhile, in the Taekwondo sport, ITS managed to win two gold medals in the Kyorugi U-80Kg category by Hidayat Dany Triatmoko and U-57Kg by Neyza Fauzia Ajryanie. Not only that, ITS also won two bronze medals in the Kyorugi U-62Kg category by Natasya Azzahra Himawan and the U-68Kg category by Marel Himawan.
Furthermore, Murdianto said that there was something interesting about the Swimming sport. Because even though ITS does not have a swimming sports UKM, ITS Informatics Engineering Department student Antonius Andy Martono managed to win three medals at once. The three medals were silver in the 100-meter Men’s Freestyle category, silver in the 100-meter Men’s Butterfly category, and bronze in the 50-meter Men’s Butterfly category.

Achievements also came from the Karate sport presented by Jasminea Shely Alidzakiyah who won a bronze medal in the Individual Kumite-61Kg category. The remaining three medals were won in the Tennis sport. Namely the silver medal in the Women’s Singles category by Nabilah Syifasari Zahra and the bronze in the Men’s Singles category by Faza Syah Reza. In addition, the two students also managed to win a bronze medal through their collaboration in the Mixed Doubles category.
The brilliant achievement is real proof that ITS students also have the potential to excel in sports. Murdiono is committed that Ditmawa ITS will always provide full support to its students who will excel, including in sports. “We will also immediately map new students (maba) so that they can get more optimal coaching from an early age,” he said.

In the future, Murdiono hopes that UKM in ITS will have clear and targeted guidance so that they can further optimize their talents. “That way, hopefully the achievements achieved by the ITS academic community can continue to increase in the future,” he said optimistically.
The achievements that ITS successfully achieved at the event held at eight campuses in Surabaya are in line with the values of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) . This is because this activity supports the 3rd goal on healthy and prosperous life and the 4th goal on quality education. (ITS PUBLIC RELATIONS)
