MKPI and IP3A Discuss Lamongan Flood Management Strategies

MKPI ITS – Floods have become an annual threat to Lamongan, in fact the condition is getting worse with prolonged flood conditions for a period of months. Meanwhile, in the dry season, Lamongan also experiences drought conditions. Sitting together discussing the strategy for handling the case, Research Center Research Center for MKPI ITS together with the Tirto Rejo Lamongan Water User Farmers Association (IP3A) held a meeting to discuss flood management solutions in the Bengawan Jero Irrigation Area Lamongan Regency.
In this discussion, the proposed countermeasures are divided into short-term and long-term countermeasures aimed at achieving a flood-resilient Lamongan condition. From this discussion emerged plans ranging from improving water management, increasing the capacity of the reservoir, normalizing the Blawi and Corong Rivers, increasing the pump capacity in Sloic Kuro and Melik, implementing the polder system in priority areas such as rural settlements and roads, to finalizing and implementing the Bengawan Solo Masterplan.
