The Center for AI and Digital Technology Study Center, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) will host an online webinar titled “The Potential of Artificial Intelligence Research in Climatology/Meteorology and Geomatics” on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM WIB. This event aims to broaden the horizons of academics, researchers, students, and practitioners regarding the potential for developing applicable Artificial Intelligence (AI) research in the fields of climatology, meteorology, and geomatics.
This webinar will feature speakers from academics and practitioners with expertise in their fields. The first speaker is Dr. Ardhasena Sopaheluwakan, M.Sc., Deputy Head of Climatology at the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), who will discuss the use of AI in climatology and meteorology. The second speaker is Prof. Lalu Muhammad Jaelani, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., Professor from the Department of Geomatics Engineering, ITS, who will present material on the application of AI in geomatics and spatial analysis.
Through this activity, participants are expected to gain an understanding of the role of AI in supporting climate data analysis, weather prediction, geospatial data processing, and the development of intelligent systems based on earth data. This webinar is also expected to open opportunities for multidisciplinary research collaborations between the fields of artificial intelligence, climatology, meteorology, and geomatics to support the development of data-driven technological innovations in the future.
