\nTidak mudah budaya kerja, karena menyangkut mindest dan kebiasaan yang menahun. Namun Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya, sebagai perguruan tinggi berbadan hukum (PTN BH) menuntut perubahan sikap dan prilaku. Pergeseran budaya dari kultur institusi ke korporasi.
\nMaka di awal menjabat sebagai Rektor ITS periode 2019-2024, Prof.Dr. Ir. Mochamad Ashari, M.Eng., APU, ASEAN.Eng. tahun 2019, langsung menggarap aspek pada pola pikir itu. Beruntung Rektor sebelumnya sudah merintisnya, sehingga tak perlu berangkat dari nol lagi.
\nTatkala roda organisasi sudah running well, tiba-tiba datang rintangan. Virus Corona melanda. Tapi itu bukan alasan untuk menyurutkan langkah. Justri di masa pandemi, ITS dapat menyumbangkan karya inovatif, antara lain Robot Raisa untuk meladeni pasien Covid di ruang isolasi, Robot Violeta pembunuh virus, dan ventilator darurat Evits.
\nDi tengah ketidaknormalan situasi, ITS ternyata mampu menjadi PTN BH dengan rapor terbaik ke-1 dari Kemenristekdikti tahun 2019. Juga mendapat Akreditasi Unggul oleh Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi (BAN PT) pada 2023.
