Selanjutnya, buku ini menguraikan dasar-dasar teknologi bioelektrokimia, klasifikasi sistem seperti MFC, Microbial Electrolysis Cell (MEC), dan Bioelectrochemical Systems (BES), beserta keunggulan dan keterbatasannya.<\/p>\n<p>Secara mendalam, buku ini menjelaskan prinsip dasar bioelektrokimia meliputi mikroorganisme elektrogenik, mekanisme transfer elektron (direct dan mediated electron transfer), reaksi redoks, potensial elektroda, serta hubungan antara metabolisme mikroba dan produksi listrik. Pembahasan teknis dilanjutkan dengan konfigurasi MFC (batch dan kontinyu), desain reaktor, material elektroda dan membran, sumber substrat, pembentukan biofilm, hingga optimalisasi kinerja sistem.<\/p>\n<p>Selain aspek teknis, buku ini juga mengkaji potensi aplikasi MFC dalam pengolahan limbah, produksi energi terdesentralisasi, integrasi dengan teknologi lain seperti piezoelektrik dan thermoelectric generator, hingga evaluasi ekonomi, skalabilitas, dan dukungan kebijakan. Tantangan implementasi dan arah pengembangan masa depan turut dibahas untuk memberikan perspektif strategis dalam pengembangan teknologi ini.<\/p>\n<p>Dengan pendekatan sistematis dan berbasis literatur ilmiah terkini, buku ini ditujukan bagi akademisi, peneliti, mahasiswa, dan praktisi yang tertarik pada bidang energi terbarukan, bioteknologi lingkungan, serta teknologi pengolahan limbah berkelanjutan.
