The Rector Awards 2025 ceremony at Graha ITS served as a form of appreciation from ITS to departments excelling in learning achievements and graduate outcomes.
Surabaya, IT Journalistic — Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) once again held its annual Rector Awards 2025 as a form of recognition for the best contributions of departments and faculties within ITS. The event was conducted as part of the ITS Annual Gathering on Tuesday (February 10) at Graha ITS.
At this prestigious event, the Department of Information Technology (DTI) ITS achieved remarkable accomplishments by winning 1st place in two categories simultaneously. The first award was in the category of the Undergraduate Program (Bachelor’s Degree) with the Highest Percentage of Case/Project-Based Courses, reflecting DTI ITS’s strong commitment to designing case-based and project-based learning to ensure students’ competency achievement through the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach.
In addition, DTI ITS also secured 1st place as the Department with the Highest Percentage of Undergraduate Graduates Who Successfully Secured Employment, Continued Their Studies, or Became Entrepreneurs. This achievement demonstrates DTI’s success in producing high-quality, adaptive, and competent graduates with strong career readiness and competitiveness in both the job market and further education.
These accomplishments further complement DTI’s academic achievements in 2025. Previously, DTI ITS received 2nd place in the ITS Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) Award during the 65th ITS Anniversary and obtained an “Excellent” Accreditation from LAM INFOKOM, valid until 2030. These recognitions strengthen DTI ITS’s position as a leading department in preparing undergraduate graduates who are ready to enter the professional world.
The Rector of ITS personally presented the Rector Awards 2025 to Dr. Henning Titi Ciptaningtyas, S.Kom., M.Kom., Secretary of the Department of Information Technology ITS.
These achievements demonstrate the consistency and quality of the Undergraduate Information Technology Program, covering all aspects from planning (input), learning implementation (process), to graduate outcomes (output). Located in Tower 2 ITS with modern and comprehensive learning facilities, DTI integrates an industry-oriented curriculum while strengthening the implementation of case-based and project-based learning. The synergy between facilities, lecturers, students, OBE-based curriculum, and industry partners plays a crucial role in producing outstanding graduates in the field of Information Technology.
The Head of the Department of Information Technology ITS, Dr. Tech. Ir. Raden Venantius Hari Ginardi, M.Sc., also showcased the two 1st place award certificates earned at the Rector Awards 2025.
Moving forward, the Department of Information Technology ITS remains committed to developing learning innovations aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in supporting SDG 4 on Quality Education and SDG 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth. By strengthening project-based learning and outcome-based education, the department encourages students not only to excel academically but also to develop career readiness, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the capacity to contribute to sustainable development. This award serves as an important milestone in reinforcing the department’s role in fostering an inclusive, adaptive, and sustainable educational ecosystem within ITS.
As part of ITS, a State University with Legal Entity (PTNBH) status, admissions to the Undergraduate Information Technology Program are managed by the ITS Admissions Office through the SNBP, SNBT, and Independent Admission pathways.
