Surabaya, IT Journalistic — Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) once again held its annual international program, Community and Technological (CommTECH) Camp. This program serves as a platform for students, academics, and professionals from various countries to collaborate and explore global issues through technological applications. Carrying the theme “Solving Local Problems with Global Knowledge,” CommTECH Camp 2025 has become a relevant stage for strengthening global understanding and expanding international cooperation networks.
As one of the key hosts, the Department of Information Technology (DTI) at ITS played an essential role in the program. Participants were introduced to various technological innovations developed by the department and had the opportunity to engage directly with faculty members and students.

CommTECH Camp featured a wide range of interactive activities, including courses, visits to governmental and non-governmental institutions, and cultural immersion programs. Participants also had the chance to learn Indonesian language, traditional music, and dance. Beyond theoretical learning, the program emphasized a Project-based Learning (PbL) approach, where participants were divided into groups to find solutions to real-world community challenges.
Through its active involvement, the ITS Department of Information Technology has made tangible contributions in creating innovative solutions for local issues, while reaffirming its position as a pioneer in technology. This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, which emphasizes building resilient infrastructure, promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and fostering innovation.
By engaging in global collaborations such as CommTECH, DTI ITS not only produces competent graduates but also actively contributes to shaping a more innovative and sustainable future.
