Surabaya, IT Journalistic — The welcoming event for parents of new students organized by the Department of Information Technology (DTI), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), on Saturday, August 2, 2025, received a warm and positive response from the attendees. After participating in the main university-level ceremony at Graha ITS, parents were directed to Tower 2 to continue with the department-level program. To ease mobilization, DTI ITS provided shuttle buses that transported the group from Graha ITS to the department. Upon arrival, parents were warmly welcomed by the lecturers and faculty members, then invited to tour various facilities, including classrooms, laboratories, and student research showcases, before attending presentations on departmental programs and joining a communication forum between the department and parents.

One of the parents, Mr. Yusuf, expressed his gratitude as his child was admitted to ITS through the golden ticket program. “Alhamdulillah, my child was accepted at ITS. The facilities here are truly outstanding, and today’s explanation was very clear. If there is anything we don’t understand, there is already a dedicated group with the faculty to make communication easier,” he said.

Similar appreciation was echoed by other parents. They emphasized that the event not only strengthened the relationship between the campus and families but also provided them with a real glimpse into the learning environment at DTI ITS. “It was such a fun event. We were taken on a tour to see the excellent facilities. There is even a communication group for parents, which really helps coordination,” shared another parent.

For some families, the existence of a dedicated parent group was a refreshing and new experience, showing the openness of DTI ITS. “This is my third child to go to college, but this is the first time I’ve seen a parent group like this. The Department of Information Technology at ITS is very open and advanced. We are truly delighted to witness such positive development,” said a mother of one of the students.
Beyond sharing their impressions, parents also voiced high hopes for both the department and their children. They wish for DTI ITS to become the best department in Indonesia and eventually compete on an international scale. “We hope the Department of Information Technology will continue to excel, grow, and produce the best graduates in Indonesia,” one parent remarked.
At the same time, parents conveyed personal wishes for their children to succeed academically and beyond. “We hope their studies go smoothly, that they graduate on time with excellent results, and become a source of pride for the family,” another parent concluded.
