Lab Internship – Student Research Program at SIT Intake Sept-Oct 2024

Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT) Japan would like to inform you that they are currently opening registration of Lab Internship – Student Research Program in 2024. In this program, students will have a chance to have experience another culture, do some research in a different academic/research environment and pursue your spesific research topics by involving international cooperation and collaboration in SIT.

The tuition fee for this program is waived. However the accepted students are responsible for their learning materials, dorms and living expenses in Japan including Roundtrip Flight Ticket, Visa  & Travel Insurance. The selected students also need to pay registration fee JPY 30.000,-

This program is open for ITS students for Diploma & S1 (batch 2021 & 2022), S2 & S3 all batch. Final year/semester students will become priority for this program.

You may refer to the “Designed Research Project” ( https://www.shibaura-it.ac.jp/en/study/exchange_programs/designated/designated.html ) first, in which the professor has limited conditions for accepting students. If you don’t have your own research topcc and meet the requirements, there is a good chance that they will be accepted.

If you don’t find the “Designated Research Projects” that suits you, you may refer to the “SIT Laboratory list” (https://www.shibaura-it.ac.jp/en/research/index.html) to find the laboratory you are interested in.

SHIGEMUNE Hiroki – Active Functional Devices Laboratory (Toyosu)
TAKASAKI Akito – Materials Science and Engineering Laboratory (Toyosu)

Please kindly note that ITS Students can apply this program for 3 weeks (minimum) until 90 days (maximum). The period time for this program is begin from Sept/Oct 2024. Please note that ITS Students are not allowed to contact Prof. directly.

Here the requirement for this program

1.   Application form who consist of CV, Research Plan & Motivation Letter ( please refer to this link abm00012819.pdf (shibaura-it.ac.jp)). Please make sure you mentioned Lab/Prof name and your proposed duration

2. One original applicant’s University Transcript. (English version). The GPA of applicants must higher than 3.0(out of 4.0)

3. Certificate of Enrollment

4. Scanned passport information page at least valid minimum one year

6. Valid English Proficiency Test Score (original). TOEFL/IELTS/IBT  (You can use EFL from ITS Global Language Center, However, EFL from Dirpendik is not acceptable) with minimum score 477

7. One recommendation letter from an academic advisor

8. Statement Letter (please download from here bit.ly/its-student-exchange )

9. CV

The incomplete documents can’t be process by study abroad team. Please  make sure that you aware about the budget that you need to prepare for joining this program.
