Project Title: Study and Development on Integrated Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage Toward Net Zero Emission
Carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) technology is the main solution for reducing carbon dioxide emissions from the industrial and power generation sectors. This research involves four joint work packages (WPs) carried out collaboratively by ITS, UGM, and NTU. In WP 1, the CCUS technology of CO2 sequestration performance in geologic storage is determined by studying the phenomenon of CO2 transport in porous media. In WP 2 and WP 4, the CCUS concept integrated with CO2 capture using microalgae and biomass is utilized to become biorefinery products. In WP 3), CO2 utilization is realized through electrochemical reduction. Through these four work packages (WP), the goal is to obtain a high-performance and economical carbon capture, utilization, and storage system to support net-zero emissions in Indonesia.
Presented below are programs from the CCUS Work-Package (WP) to be executed throughout this four-year project.
