Surabaya, FTEIC ITS – Muhammad Assaifunnadhif A., commonly known as Nadhif, a Biomedical Engineering student at FTEIC ITS from the class of 2024, had the opportunity to serve as Project Officer for one of the work programs under the Department of Domestic Affairs of BEM FTEIC, namely ELITE x PESRAF ITS 2026.

ELITE stands for Electics League of Intense Tournament Excitement and Skill, which aims to accommodate the interests and talents of FTEIC students through sports and e-sports competitions among the six departments in FTEIC. Meanwhile, PESRAF, or Pentas Seni Rakyat FTEIC (FTEIC People’s Art Performance), serves to accommodate the interests and talents of FTEIC students in the arts, including music, acting, and dance.

The background and purpose of holding ELITE x PESRAF was to accommodate the interests and talents of FTEIC students, both in sports and the arts, while also fostering harmony among the six departments in FTEIC through healthy and sportsmanlike collaboration and competition.

ELITE was held from May 2 to June 8, 2026, taking place at sports facilities and areas both within and outside the ITS campus. The ELITE series consisted of nine branches of sports, namely Basketball, Futsal, Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess, Billiards, Mobile Legends, Valorant, and FIFA.

PESRAF itself was successfully held on September 12, 2026, at the 1st-floor exhibition area of Tower 2, ITS. The event was divided into three main segments: Showcase, which focused on music and drama performances; Exhibition, which aimed to introduce FTEIC’s various laboratories and their products to FTEIC students themselves; and Bazaar, which provided a platform for all six Departmental Student Associations (HMDs) and Semi-Autonomous Bodies (BSOs) to sell products and promote their respective activities. PESRAF also served as the award ceremony for ELITE winners, as well as the closing event for the entire ELITE x PESRAF ITS 2026 series.

The target audience of ELITE x PESRAF was all students from various cohorts and departments at FTEIC ITS. However, PESRAF specifically also focused on new students from the class of 2026 as a form of introduction to FTEIC, with the number of participants reaching more than 1,000 new students.

In the preparation and planning process, the committee coordinated with various stakeholders, including all six Departmental Student Associations (HMDs), BEM FTEIC, and the FTEIC Dean’s Office, to ensure the smooth running and success of ELITE x PESRAF. Throughout the process, things certainly did not always go smoothly, but the committee continuously strived to improve communication and coordination as best as possible, supported by clear workload distribution among all committee members and ongoing supervision to ensure every task was carried out optimally.

The biggest challenge faced by the committee was maintaining communication and coordination, both among fellow committee members and with stakeholders, to ensure every requirement could be fulfilled while preventing fatal miscommunication. To address this, the committee established a structured communication and coordination flow, developed a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for coordination among committee divisions, and conducted regular cross-checks to ensure nothing was overlooked. Through these measures, the entire event series was completed from start to finish without any significant issues or incidents.

The most memorable moments for the committee were the feelings of satisfaction, happiness, and pride each time they successfully passed each milestone, from the beginning through to the smooth conclusion of the event. In addition, the committee felt pleased that the event ran lively and was considered grand, with full support from all committee members, BEM FTEIC, and especially the FTEIC Dean’s Office.

Among the tangible benefits and impacts felt by students were the ability to channel their interests and talents in sports and the arts, gain deeper insight into FTEIC and everything within it, such as the various laboratories, HMDs, BSOs, and other activities, as well as build good relationships among fellow FTEIC ITS students.

Looking ahead, ELITE x PESRAF is expected not only to remain an annual competitive event, but also to grow into an iconic tradition or legacy that will continue to be anticipated by the entire FTEIC academic community, with concepts and event series that continue to innovate and develop each year.
